Wasn't the concept of D&D as a combat game really introduced in 4E? The whole miniature-centric philosophy of it. Otherwise, it's always been an RP game with combat elements.

You underestimate the power you have as a DM to control Plane Shift: tuning forks are required for each destination. I haven't found 5e references on how to obtain or make tuning forks, which means that it is entirely up to you. So if it's a PITA to get (very rare, only certain destinations, or...

Reading that it seems your god is essentially casting wish. If your DM confirms this, then the effect of any spell of 8th or lower can be duplicated in 1 Action without components, giving you access to some pretty powerful spells against fiends such as Magic Circle, which normally would take 1...

I may be missing something, but is there somewhere a psionics option for sorcerers, or is it just wizards? It would be unfortunate if it's just the extra spells on the list, and not some of the cool thematic abilities such as telepathy.
