One of my favourite RPG healing rules

    Yes, she definitely could!

One of my favourite RPG healing rules

To be fair, rules as bullet points was not a thing when this game was published. Wordiness was the norm, even for shortish games like Bunnies and Burrows.

One of my favourite RPG healing rules

It's an old game. It was light for the time period. 😂

One of my favourite RPG healing rules

This is not a D&D game. This is a fairly rules light cooperative game about chivalric knights. It does a great job of capturing the adventure and high romance of Prince Valiant tales. These healing rules fit the genre well because healing can be determined more by story than actual body...

OSR Video: State of the OSR (Gary Con '25 Panel)

I enjoyed this panel a lot too, especially when everyone laughed after the question, "What is the definition of OSR?" It was a lot of fun and great panel participants.

How do you choose a class?

Keeping the type of game in mind and what the other players are doing, I start with the character's background, interests, etc. and then let the character tell me their class. For classless systems, I do the same and then pick skills, talents, etc. that are appropriate. But sometimes, I'll...

Spoilers Star Trek: Deep Space Nine

Watched the documentary couple weeks ago. It's really good and insightful. Everyone seemed to really care about the show.

Five Takeaways From the 2025 Monster Manual

This is good, as long as the GM offers it to the players. As written, it's for GMs to create backgrounds to offer players. Yes, it says you can help a player create their personal idea, but I'd prefer these be in the player's book. Lots of GMs are doing this for players anyway, but it rankles me...

    D&D 5E City of Arches-Perfect 5e Setting

The Talisman RPG put out by Pegasus Spiele would be a great fit as well!

    D&D 5E City of Arches-Perfect 5e Setting

We've drifted away from 5e as well but this has intrigued us. Might be our last 5e for a while. And it was irresistible to go wild with all the 3rd party books.

    D&D 5E City of Arches-Perfect 5e Setting

There is the assumption that you may spend the whole campaign in City of Arches and the surrounding areas and not do plane hopping. You could certainly do a little or a lot of plane hopping, if you want, of course. City of Arches is overflowing with hooks and ideas to inspire ideas, but you can...

D&D General D&D Editions: Anybody Else Feel Like They Don't Fit In?

    T. Kingfisher writes really good stand alone fantasy and horror novels and novellas. And her horror stories are the kind I like, atmospheric and creepy. Her fantasy is dark and whimsical takes on fairy tales.

    D&D 5E City of Arches-Perfect 5e Setting

Sly Flourish's City of Arches, by Mike Shea recently arrived on my doorstep. I think it's a near perfect setting for the current take on modern D&D. The City of Arches is connected to the multiverse via arches scattered throughout the city. Upon entry, arrivals have little memory of their...

Best superhero movie of all time? (Nominations thread)

I didn't notice the bad CGI, but I rarely do. I love Black Panther for the characters and performances. Black Panther and Kilmonger talking at the end made this picture unique and beautiful. And then Bozeman gives us another thoughtful portrayal of Black Panther in Civil War.

Best superhero movie of all time? (Nominations thread)

Yes! Conroy does Batman without sounding like there's something wrong with his voice. In "Harley's Holiday" when he tells Harley he had a bad day once too, there's compassion in Batman's voice that I imagine would be hard to convey with the gravely voices we usually get.
