    Lycanthrope Experience

If my 4th level Monk is afflicted with Lycanthropy and adds 6 levels of werebear as well as a Level Adjustment of 2, then he would have an ECL of 12. He would need 78,000 xp to get to 13. Does my guy have 66,000 xp automatically or does he still have the measly 9,900 he had just before being...

    Monk Werebear - Afflicted Lycanthrope

Whoot! Thanks, guys. I'm actually happy to have been inflicted with this horrible condition now. And by the way, my 4th level grappling Monk would have kicked that werebear PC's ass if the DM hadn't improperly ruled that natural AC counts against touch attacks. (Had him down and immobile for...

    Monk Werebear - Afflicted Lycanthrope

My 4th level monk just got bit by a werebear and has become inflicted with lycanthropy. I am working on converting him using the template, but I have a few questions. Would base creature +2 mean that my monk just became 6th level? Is the racial Hit Dice of the base animal it's own class...

Does entering melee provoke an AoO?

A medium sized creature attacking a large creature would provoke an AoO when entering a threatened square?

Does entering melee provoke an AoO?

Perhaps this is a silly question, but I can't find any rule that says entering into a threatened square provokes an attack of oppotunity. Does it? If I do a regular move into a threatened square and then attack using my standard action, does the move provoke an AoO? What if I'm charging?

    Ranged Attack Hitting Your Buddy

Thanks, guys. And Alchemist, I appreciate the link to the SRD. Unfortunately, ranged attacks aren't even really discussed in that document. So, I'm assuming that this is just a house rule my guys use. What's the normal ruling everyone uses if you want to allow your players to accidently hit...

    Ranged Attack Hitting Your Buddy

I don't have the DMG yet. Is there a link to this rule I can look at or could you break it down for me? Just the basics.

    Ranged Attack Hitting Your Buddy

I can't find any rules that explain why you hit your friend with a ranged attack against an opponent in melee with your friend. I'm not used to the 3.5 rules yet. I have the PHB and of course the core rules, but the only thing I can find is the -4 penalty. It doesn't say anything about hitting...

Either way, it smacks of incest. :D

Creating magical items in a rare magic world

The argument would come when I want to give the players more or less than 50%. The opening pages of the DMG in 2E said that the rules were just there to help the DM and players live ther situations they imagined. The rules could and should be changed to suit the needs. If a local baron is...

Creating magical items in a rare magic world

Some of the rules in 3.5 seem stupid to me. Having a rule that dictates how much treasure can be sold for is useless. If it is just a suggested price, then that is fine. What is the purpose of that rule? To limit creativity? As a DM, I wouldn't want to waste any time arguing with a player about...

    D&D 3E/3.5 Is there a Parry in 3.5?

Wow. Finding out Parry was just an optional rule in the 2E Fighters Handbook is like finding out Santa uses a harley and never even heard of reindeer. Thanks for the clarity. Now I have to go look up Devoted Defender. I still stand by my argument though, that the parry is not represented in the...

    D&D 3E/3.5 Is there a Parry in 3.5?

I would lalow it as well, but the group I play with take turns DM'ing. For this reason they don't allow anything that isn't in the rules. I've been using parry for as long as I can remember. i just assumed it was in the DMG.

    D&D 3E/3.5 Is there a Parry in 3.5?

I just can't agree with that. In the first response to this post, Diamondew said If that's true then why doesn't my AC go up when my Base attack goes up? In 2E a great swordsman could defend himself against a poor one all day and never get hit regardless of whether he was wearing armour or...
