Nah... not my cup of tea. The AoS setting is way too generic and "primary colors" for me.
It probably suffers from being too young to be fully fleshed out but when I think of interconnected planar campaigns I think of Planescape... where you had a mature, philosophical approach to the nature...
Loved the first trilogy as a teen... but IMO it hasn't aged well... or with grace... both story and writing have not grown with time.
Then again I am old and cantankerous... I've replaced Salvatore with Polansky and Rothfuss, but if any young one finds inspiration in the likes of Drizzt I will...
