The Play's The Thing: The Importance Of Playtesting Games

So, what about En World open a special forum just to playtest things? Designers would have a place to get some playtesters and people willing to commit to a playtest would love the chance. I know that are issues with secrecy with playtesting material, etc... But it would be a start. :)

D&D 5E Classic or just plain brilliant adventures/modules

THIS! The most fun (and dangerous) campaign arc I ever Dm'ed... Well, the Tomb of Horrors was more dangerous, but sounded more like the Paranoia RPG... The Dragon Mountain, on other hand, makes my players REALLY hate kobolds. Normal kobolds, not super-kobolds... Normal kobolds that defied a 9th+...

D&D 5E Is the Tarrasque tough enough?

Not Godzilla there... That Gargantua came from a classic story: Gargantua and Pantagruel (written by Rabelais on 1500-and-something).

    D&D 5E Monsters You Miss

Kaorti Juggernaut (I love these "guys" and the face of the players when they see one :P ) Derro Aurumvorax Nymph Abishai Gem dragons Beholder: Eyeball (as familiar to Great Old Ones warlock) Nightwalkers And... Many more NPC-like monsters as that ones on Apendix B.

D&D 5E Any interest in the not-quite-so-wild mage?

I am thinking the same, more in line with the Paradox from the WoD Mage games.

D&D 5E Does anyone who got an mm at Gencon want to offer up spoilers to us?

If I remember well, this was voted on Wizards' site: "succubi: demons or devils?". And, I think that "both" was the winner, so the succubi here is supposed to go with the majority of voting people :)

D&D 5E MM table of contents and stat block index

I noticed some entries on plural: skeletons, zombies, beholders... More than one type :)

D&D 5E Perform Skill & Instrument Proficiency redundancy

It is interesting how different people have different oppinions of things. For me, tool proficiencies are one of the most awesome ideas of 5e. I really love them.

D&D 5E Current state of the Forgotten Realms

No, the timeline is still advanced (about 10 years after 4e). And the state of things is returning even more, restoring gods as Bhaal, Myrkul, and even Leira, while still keeping "new" gods as Kelemvor and Cyric. To resume the situation, Ao is very pissed.

    D&D 5E Half-Dragons and Dragonborn: What's the difference?

In the Realms, dragonborn are native from Abeir and came to Toril when the worlds merged. Probably some stayed around when Ao separated the worlds again.

    D&D 5E Sundering - So what happened?

You are right. And the high magic spell reverberated through the spacetime... Both forward and back in time. The actual Sundering is somewhat connected with the "forward in time" from that casting, but the exact details remain to be reveled yet.

    D&D 5E Finally

    Good distintion, I think.

    D&D 5E Finally

Are Kelemvor and Myrkul mentioned as gods of what? To me, both are gods of death, just in a different way.

    D&D 5E Sundering - So what happened?

This was before you discover that Larloch is Chosen of Mystryl (yes, not Mystra or Midnight, but the original Mystryl) and before he absorbed all the wards of Candlekeep and got the power of a demigod (according Shar).

    D&D 5E Appendix B: Gods

As a side note, dwarves also have a special name for theirs: Morndinsamman
