    Rangers... the weakest of classes?

my opinion Tracking, in general, is a *really* odd feat. It should have been an ordinary skill, IMO, though I'm sure somebody can give me a good reason why it's too good as a mere skill. Favored enemy has a number of oddities and IMO flaws. 1) Doesn't work against uncritable opponents. I...

    Epic Greater Magic Weapon spell?

And, oddly, doesn't give an exception for the feat (I forgot its name) that lets you cast spells while Wild Shaped.

    Sorceor spellselection

Extra Spell? How about Extra Spell for a sorceror? What do the masses think?

    Sorceor spellselection

nice idea That argument has merit. I like it. Blindness is somewhat redundant with Glitterdust.

    Sorceor spellselection

I'm not unsympathetic to that view, but it ignores two things IMO. One, Glitterdust is a dual-use spell, having both offensive and defensive uses. This is important for a sorceror, which his limited spells known. Second, Glitterdust lasts 1 round/level, while See Invisibility lasts 10...

    Sorceor spellselection

More selection tips Feats can also dictate spell selection. Chain Spell is, in my mind, one of the best feats out there. Greater Magic Weapon, Haste, Reduce, Enervation, and Dispel Magic can all be Chained by mid-level spellcasters. As offensive spells with no saving throw, Enervation and...

Ring of Force Shield and Two-handed weapons

Consider an animated shield instead Consider this: Item AC Price Ring of Force Shield +2 8500 GP Large Shield,+1, Animated +3 9170 GP The animated shield can definitely be used with a 2-handed weapon or with two-weapon...

    Spells no Sorcerer would take...

Say no to Contingency Contingency is definitely not worth it for a Sorceror. It's great for a Wizard, since the Wizard can cast Contingency and then memorize something else in its place. For a Sorceror, it's a dead spell slot that can't be replaced by something else. Sorcerors should cast...

    Spells no Sorcerer would take...

A contrarian view I take the contrarian stance. First of all, Identify scales with level, which is an important fact to consider when choosing a Sorceror's spells. Second, you can do this in the field, whereas going back to town to have them do it can be damn inconvenient, not to mention the...

    Spells no Sorcerer would take...

What's wrong with Flesh to Stone? It's basically an instant-kill spell like Disintegrate and doesn't require an attack roll.

    Sorceor spellselection

A subdual fireball won't kill a party member by itself, but it will knock them out, which is often as good as being dead. I like the peasant angle, though. I don't see how "subdual fire" differs from "fire" for the purpose of elemental resistance. That's the real weakness of Glitterdust: you...

    Sorceor spellselection

In my opinion, it's not. Shield cast by a 20th level caster is about as useful as one cast by a 1st level one (lasts 1 combat), thus shield is better cast by wand or scroll. Glitterdust is an area effect. I need to know about where they are to affect them, not exactly where they are. But yes...

    Sorceor spellselection

My spell list; comments encouraged Here's my Sorceror's spell list (or will be, if he gets to 20th level). It's also pretty min-maxed. Explanations follow the list; comments are encouraged. 0 Arcane Mark Detect Poison Detect Magic Light Disrupt Undead Mage Hand Prestidigitation Ray of Frost...

crit multipliers and ... more multipliers?

You need to get your Champions die-rolling skills updated :D

crit multipliers and ... more multipliers?

The notable thing here is that rolling double dice reduces variance, which makes getting a killer result significantly harder than doubling the rolled damage.
