There's some really good stuff here. It would be great if people were more accepting of change and could understand that people might prefer a different version of a game. I never really played any of the flavors of D&D but know just enough to see how different people can enjoy the uniqueness...

One thing I'm really curious about. Player A, the hypersensativec, walking on eggshells one. What does the player want out of the game? I can't imagine he wants a game where he has to keep running to stay alive (but I could be wrong:)).

I have to disagree on this. Chaotic evil is the barbarian warband massacring a village for no reason. Lawful Evil is crucifying thousands of people along the Appian way to show the power and authority of Rome and what happens then that is challenged. It's a very purposeful evil.

I consider this an important point. In DnD morality is not relative. It's very black and white and with a couple simple spells you can tell if someone is good or evil. In terms of the game world, these spells are not self deceptions, they are quite accurate.

I'll take a different tact here. It seems like there is a certain lack of trust in the DM in this case. Im the game I normally play in, I've known the DM for years and trust him. So if my level 20 wizard casts a spell that should destroy someone and I get: DM: The target seems unaffected...
