Cantrips have always been one of my favorite features of wizards, and I have always felt that cleric cantrips (sometimes called orisons) have never achieved the same coolness factor. I am hoping that 5e corrects this, and I wonder if we could compile a perfect list of Cleric cantrips. Here are...
Selfishly, I am trying to find one central repository of all the hard rules we know about "D&D Next" because I need to start a new campaign NOW, and the game rules are still under wraps.
Does such a thing exist - a place where all the latest known information regarding 5e crunch can be...
Thought: In a game where a d20 is rolled for many different things besides to-hit, such as skill checks, initiative, and many other reasons (including random boredness) and crits ONLY affect to-hit rolls, then the percentage of crits is actually less than 5%.
So in a game like 3e, where...
So its a rule for something that never would happen. Goblin survived 10 rounds against a 10th level warrior? he deserved to get critted. Or maybe it was 20 goblins, and they got 2 got crits, so that is double damage from a GOBLIN at level 10. Double damage is still pathetic ,and doesnt break...
it seems like rolling nat 20s still only happes a couple times a session, how is that too common? My theory is that the fuzzy math involved in confirming crits has no bearing in real world game play.
on the other hand, critting on anything other than a nat 20 blows my argument out of the...
I never understood the use or need for crit confirming. it adds a second roll that turns "awesome!" into "WTF!" and really, all it does is make it go from a 5% chance of occurrence to a 3-4% chance, what is the point, use, or value in this rule? It seems like a math fix where there wasn't a...
I just want to be able to finally use a weapon's "long range" in an encounter. 1" squares make that all but unlikely, unless playing on olympic sized conference table.
1" = 10' inside, 10 yards outside is my vote :)
Woo-frakking-oot!
Release these babies to every store that will have them, forget exclusivity. Go for broke and watch the people lap these up.
All you have to do is look at the sales of the gilt edge hardcovers of classics ( the same ones we have for free on our e-readers ) and see the...
Agree with all the haters. feats are my least favorite parts of 3e and 4e. They sounded great at first until I was drowned in them.
I don't want a computer to roll up a character, or 40 books open in front of me, which is the only option with the current game and its (literally) THOUSANDS of...
I think the idea behind the "no edged weapons" is that training the dance of swords leaves no time for prayer, whilst bashing infidel heads with mace, spiked or no, requires less martial prowess, thereby leaving ample time for other priestly duties.
