I know that for me at least (coming from someone that loves other board games and video games) I'm getting way way more than $60 worth of value from TTRPG books.
Honestly with the countless hours of play time these games give it dwarfs a $40 board game or $60 video game
It's BOTH books PDF for $60. Considering the hours of play you can get out of books like this I feel like that price isn't really that bad.
You can get just the Heroes book for $40
In the city I live in the games being ran at all the games stores are 80% Dnd with a couple tables playing "Shadowdark", a couple tables playing "Draw Steel", a table that plays "Mothership", and a table that plays "Traveller".
Definitely not nearly as good as the Wizkids minis I own but I think they will be extremely passable at the table. I'm finally starting a home game next month after only DM-ing a handful of online sessions and I was going to use all paper minis/tokens but these 3D prints will be so cool!

My wife and I are watching the TV Reality show "Traitors". It's filled with trashy tv show personalities and the game is clunky but this is the first season we've watched and we love it. Here's to our love for trash TV!
I have a good handful of Wizkids minis that I really liked (both painted and not painted) but I got a 3D Printer for Christmas and have printed probably 50-100 minis so far and just got a handful of paints to get some color on them.
I tend to agree with a previous poster that painting the minis...
Very excited for GTA 6 this fall.
It's been a very fun return to GTA 3. It's crazy how my brain doesn't remember what my co-worker told me yesterday but how I can remember where everything is on the map from a game that I devoured 25 years ago
Just about to finish up The Legend Of Drizzt trilogy. Truly enjoyed the heck out of it (I imagine all the big brained folk do not enjoy the simplicity of these books) and I am excited to steal a bunch of stuff from those books for my DM prep.
Just beat "Dispatch" and thoroughly enjoyed it! It was a fun game to just sit back and enjoy after beating Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.
Now I'm going back and beating GTA 3 and that game gives me all the nostalgia of when it came out during my first year of college.
Really want to get some Dolmenwood products! Looks awesome
But also I love the WOTC stuff they released last year. Super enjoyable and useful books. As a TTRPG fan I'm pumped they got some stuff into our hands last year!
Really great read!! Thanks for sharing. I'm about to start my first even in home game and i'm pretty pumped (still needing to find a better table for my basement for the game).
Would love any game notes you'd be willing to share. I feel like I've been learning a lot about how people run games...
I feel kind of bad for the DC20 crew. That game had a pretty solid head of steam when it was announced but unfortunately that was 2/3 years ago. Starting to feel very "Star Wars 1313" which is a bummer, I was pumped when it was announced and now am surprised any time I see a "Beta Livestream"...
