    [OT] Godzilla!

There's a Godzilla game for the gamecube coming out in the next month or so called (of course) Godzilla: Destroy all Monsters. There's plenty of info at www.godzillaoncube.com. Looks really, really sweet.

    D20 Review Section Reputation

No one pays any attention to them either. Seriously, we might as well just apply an automatic '5' review to everything related to the Scared Lands, and save you a lot of trouble.

    Hell in Freeport <*Spoilers*>

That opening Horrid Wilting is pretty nasty. It took our whole party down to near-death, and we spent several rounds just healing and fighting off the consort. By the time we were done, Jalie was invisible and flying, chucking spells all over the place--definitely bad news. But a pit fiend would...

    CR System--> :) or :( ?

The system depends upon PCs having access to appropriate gear for their level (see the DMG for the chart). 5th level and not even a +1 weapon? You're describing an error in your assumptions and play style, not in the system. Treat those poor, poor saps as level 3; EL 3 encounters should be...

    (Mongoose) Slayer's Guide to Medusas

D&D style is for "medusas", not "medusae".

    overpowered?

?? Does it just extend for one round, or pop out and stay out? If it stays out, your character is threatening all sorts of squares, and with Combat Reflexes and high Dex it's potentially destructive. If it just shoots out and comes back, then no big whup.

    Favorite/Least Favorite Monster Books

Look at the Minotaur illo Wow, you mean _besides_ the horrible art? Half the book looked like it was done by somebody who "learned to draw the Marvel way". The TonyD stuff was nice, but come on--the book on whole is laughably bad! My favorite: the 3E MM. The layout doesn't bother me at all...

RUMOR! SW Galaxies to use d20 engine

Knights of the Old Republic _will_ use d20 rules. That isn't a rumor; I saw it demoed at E3 this year, and the Power Attack feat was already implemented. I haven't heard anything about Galaxies, and I kinda doubt that Verant would use any ruleset they couldn't change on the fly.

    [Setting Search] Who's got cajones?

Who's tough enough to post their one-pager? I didn't submit (thought about it, but the home setting's basically FR-lite), but I know lots of you did. So now that there's no danger of it being ripped off, make with the posts!

Looking for a Monster or Class That Can Control Reptiles

Black Dragon Black dragons gain the ability to control reptiles at great wyrm level, but that's probably too high level for most parties.

WotC Seeking Your Setting Proposals (was "Big Wizard announcement")

Oh geez Golly Anthony, I've already sent in my 15,000 proposals hand-lettered on papyrus mashed from reeds I grew myself organically, but I used the AP standard for serial commas instead of the CMOS standard; shall I flagellate myself forthwith, or could your admin--por favor--glean what I...

    Reviews: A Modest Proposal

It occurred to me while reading Psion’s excellent review of the KoK Player’s Guide that the current product rating system (1-2-3-4-5) does not give me meaningful information about a product I may want to buy. I’ll explain. I am not a Kalamar player, but I run a homebrew and I like to pick up...

    Players Handbook II

Comic Book Guy Simpsons reference. Whenever I catch myself dissing a product categorically, as in "I hate X completely and utterly forever and ever", especially with big words, that's the ol' Comic Book Guy talking. As in "worst episode ever".

    Gygax's Canting Crew: Opinions?

Huh, so those poor unwashed commoners (no Int bonus, 2 skill points per level) are blowing a whole level's skill points to pick up this language? I guess if it's a city dominated by rogues, that makes sense. In any other situation, I'm not so sure.
