I agree with Dancey and SemperJase to a point. The game is complicated, but its always been that way. The difference IMO between now and 1978 is this:
- Eliminate rules "back then" and it didn't matter too much unless you were a rules freak. You also had the Basic set rules to back you up in...
Yes
I also was not impressed with the adventure set. Why? Because I paid 10 dollars for a sample of the real game.
No matter how good it looked and what they included with it I was still upset at the limited amount of rules they put in there. Basically a sampler until you bought 3e which came...
This is probably easy or obvious but can anyone tell me if you can repeatedly Turn the "same" undead creatures that were turned?
For example:

I voted Ranger but I think the Sorcerer and Bard in 3E are pretty worthless also. Hopefully future versions will correct them. (I hope they eliminate the Sorcerer though, the whole concept is pretty lame).
Attack of Opportunities.....
3 years later and this big 3rd edition feature still bugs me.
I finally played a game with my buds without them and we had great fun. We hardly noticed it, it basically felt like we skipped over a bunch of combat rolls.
One global house rule I put in is anyone...
3rd ed has really wet the appetite of those who want a character who does it all without restrictions.
Play an assassin if you want a killer.
The Paladin isn't one.
Think of your D&D world as our own. How can you be considered a Paladin?
A murderer would be a good description by a local...
