I know this is an older thread but I just had to add my two cents worth. Triple Ace Games came up with an amazing line of products called Daring Tales of [Insert Genre Here]. And a VERY Star Wars-esque set is Daring Tales of the Space Lanes...
The sooner PotA drops, the better. I was iffy about running Tyranny of Dragons, but Elemental Evil is right up my alley. In addition, the module would really help when I work on Adventurers League content because I can drag and drop the EE monsters.
One thing I thought I saw mentioned somewhere was that HotDQ has backgrounds in it that are themed to the adventure.
If that is true, it would go a long way to making Basic a viable option for play.
So tonight I'm going to be running my first session of the Starter Set. And the group has tried to cram as many players as possible at the table. What was once a party of three has grown to a party of 6. I've handle this size before, but this is my first time running 5e.
Is the adventure...
I really wasn't feeling 5e when it was first rolled out. Liked what was being offered, but I'd grown tired of D&D after 3/3.5/4 edition. But now I'm really starting to feel the old D&D juices pumping. However...
I'd love to get a couple of one-shots of 13th Age going when I move to SLC in...
I missed the 3e launch. D&D (or any RPG for that matter) wasn't on my radar back then. But once I was introduced to 3e, I took to it like a duck to water. 4e, however, I was following intensely.
And now!!! 5e! So excited! Been following on the WotC message boards, here on ENWorld, several...
For the same reason we don't post helpful comments instead of snark. We don't want to.
I've used virtual maps projected from a monitor embedded in my table to put our physical minis on. I've also used virtual tokens as well. The ability to use fog of war style vision blocking readily helped my...
WotC just released a new FAQ for Adventurers League on their website. Home and online games will only have Horde of the Dragon Queen as the adventure that will get you XP for the AL. Such is life.
It says to me that WotC might have a better grasp on what we want in digital tools this time around. I've been an advocate of three things in my DnD life.
1. Real dice rolls when you can
2. Char Gen that's quick and math lite.
3. An easy and fairly standardized VTT experience.
I see CN:MS...
I wouldn't want it restricted. LFR was made stronger by having easy access to play online. It also increased DDI subs because each player wanted to use what was available.
I only mention Roll20 if Wizards is insistent on only ONE sanctioned online venue. Much in the same way they only sell...
