any chummers out there still play Shadowrun? (also: d20 vs SR 3ed)

I toyed with a d20 conversion for a long time... especially magic. The best I could come up with to simulate drain was to have spells cause attribute damage to the caster (as I'm typing this, I think negative levels would work too)

What 2004 films are you looking forward too?

And little people wearing cute fuzy snowsuits using sticks and stones to defeat a force of stormtroopers was intelligent, sophisticated and a huge appeal to adults everywhere? Sorry, but I put JarJar and Ewoks on the same level... but at least with JarJar I cant see the zipper on the costume.

Spring Attack and other tough questions...

This is not necessarily correct. There was a long debate concerning this very thing many ages ago... what was stated by the sage is that it doesn't matter whether you move-attack-move, move-attack, or attack-move... in each case you got the benefits of the feat. Though it's not spelled out...

Ring of Force Shield and Two-handed weapons

I look at it this way.... If you are going to allow the following sequence: Deactivate Force Shield (Free) Attack with 2h weapon (Standard) Hold weapon in 1 hand (Free) Reactivate Force Shiled (Free) Gain bonus from Force Shield shouldn't you also allow the following sequence?: Attack with...

PCs are supposed to be able to stand up to deities?

Ok, correct my terminology if I'm wrong... but in a normal fight you roll a d20. If the roll falls within the crit range of the weapon you are using, it is called a threat. From the SRD: When a character makes an attack roll and gets a natural 20, the character hits regardless of the...

PCs are supposed to be able to stand up to deities?

Well, as I stated, I don't have the books... so if thats how it's written, I accept your statement. However, the quote that was listed here says you need to roll to determine if there is a threat... that tells me that you need to roll to see if there will be a possible crit. The quote also...

PCs are supposed to be able to stand up to deities?

Well, I don't have the book either.... but if this quote, "You should roll the d20 anyway and use that roll to check for a threat or a critical hit. " is in the book, as you indicated earlier, then it seems you need a roll to determine if there is a threat as well a roll to confirm a threat.

    TWF and Monks

Yeah, I agree this is a bit sketchy.... what's even worse, is that according to the FAQ, the monk is the only class that can do this. A monk can swing a two handed sword and make a kick attack, but a fighter can't.

    TWF and Monks

Yeah, thats what I thought too. But, from the FAQ: If a monk wields a one-handed weapon, can he use his unarmed damage if he kicks or headbutts someone? Or does the monk have to actually be unarmed to get this damage? What if the monk is armed with a two- handed weapon? A monk wielding a...
