I have found that having the dead player work with me, running monsters and such, is a fun way to have them "sit out" without stopping them playing. They are still very gald to get their PC back that way and don't miss any games.
Also is a good intro to DMing for people who haven't done it.
Did this over the weekend I had a basic kobold (CR1/8) with the Mage Initiate feat as a Druid so I bumped his CR to 1/4.
I gave him a Lair action in his greenhouse to have a plant cast Poison spray so made him CR 1/2. Chucked in a couple of Kobolds and it made a decent encounter for 3 lvl 2 PCs.
Hi, I use the login with facebook function and frequently can't even get to the end of a decent length post before getting logged out and having to log back in again. Is there a way to set ho w long I stay logged in and/or a keep me logged in option with login via facebook?
This seems odd to me. My players are finding 5E to be the most deadly version of D&D they've played since 2E. One of my players lost their first ever character in his first game of 5E (he's only been playing since 3E, so didn't have the 2E experience). On the other hand our most suicidal player...
I just realised that what I was missing was the multiplier so my encounter was far too hard!
5 Monsters @50 XP = 250
250x 2 =500
That's better. So I have taken out all the normal kobolds making my Level 2 Encounter for 3-4 PCS
1 Kobold Leader, 1 Kobold Shaman, 1 Kobold Arcanist and 2...
Sorry! They are level 2. I mocked out the encounter with some generics and it runs fine when I'm playing them, but I'm not great at simulating the random crap players are likely to do.
I'm running a game this weekend with a few players (3 or 4), as about half our group including the current DM can't make it. I'm the regular DM for our group so have no problem with DMing in general, but new rules always lead to wrinkles. I'm setting up a dungeon for the characters to delve...
Seems strange that the benefit of using a higher spell slot with hex is an extended duration, when the original duration is more than sufficient to cover an encounter. With what was posted above even if you don't rest it ends, so using higher level spell slots is just wasteful (I know a single...
I have a player who has Blade Ward and Heavy Armour Master and I can't figure out how they interact. Is it (Damage -3)/2 or (Damage/2)-3? As the character is level 2 being immune to all damage below 8 seems powerful (although it costs their action so not THAT powerful).
Each gives different...
