This is entirely incorrect. + # to damage comes at the end of the roll. X[w] only multiplies the dice you roll, not the additions due to feats, stats, or weapons properties such as versatile. You will never include static numbers inside the []'s, only dice.

The power I believe you are refering to ( Assassin's Point ) says double any EXTRA damage from sneak attack or a critical. That would be extra critical dice you roll from a weapon being high crit or having a magical ability that applies extra rolled damage on a critical, this power would not...

If by one encounter per evening you mean one encounter per session, then thats fine, your characters do a lot of talking during short rest periods. If instead you mean one per in-game-day then thats something altogether different. 4e was balanced with multiple encounters between extended rests...

baudot the algorithm i posted will calculate the probability of success given a DC, number of successes required, number of failures allowed, and varying skill levels. Is that what you are asking for?

The algorithm i presented should do this ( unless I'm misinterpreting what you are saying ). If however you just want to break out the fancy pants math ( and get the chance to earn geek cred by saying 'Markov chains' ) go for it, nobody is gonna stoping you :)
