Appreciate the response!
I want to emphasize that I'm responding because I enjoy the discussion, and not to be a pain in the ass.
The comparison tags to nouns & statuses for adjectives is difficult for me. The descriptor tags used for characters, though they may be written as nouns or noun...
Do you have any recommendations of actual plays of LitM that does this well?
EDIT: I think it'll be helpful to have the first post in of thread to have all the links to things. Kind of like a FAQ or Wiki page. Just a thought.
My bad. I am bad at internet. Thanks for the bump.
EDIT: I created the other thread and it's here. Legend in the Mist - What are your thoughts? Any further discussions on that thread I'll try to redirect it here.
TLDR: Oops, I didn't realize there was another thread. I have lots of concerns, but the game looks super interesting and I'm excited to give it a try.
Oops. I don't know how I missed that. Thanks. Not sure what to do... I'll just respond to your post here and I'll throw my future throughts in...
TLDR: The tag system is blew my mind, but I'm not sure about the overall game system. What do you think?
I learned about Legend in the Mist a few days ago and I've been obsessing over it since then. I was initially drawn in by the art and the whole "rustic fantasy" theme, but what really blew...
Sorry if this question has been already answered, but I am a bit confused about what seems to be a strong coupling between "Description on Demand" and Daggerheart. It seems like DoD is a GM technique that can be used in any TTRPG with a GM.
Are there any particular game mechanics in Daggerheart...
Aren't you kind of doing the same thing? Brennan talked about why they chose DND for the main C4 campaign, but you are trying so hard to make this whole thing about money.
I see lots of speculations here about why Critical Role is going with DND for C4 instead of Daggerheart related to the business.
But could the reason be as simple as the people who are playing C4 just like DND more than Daggerheart?
Specifically, for me, the whole "Nerdy-ass voice actors that play D&D."
Agreed.
Interestingly, I don't feel like I strongly associate Exandria with Critical Role. I know all 3 campaigns take place in the same world, but the main locations felt different enough.
Yes to 4 - 7.
Here are a few...
So it feels like what some folks are saying is that ability modifier like "STR +3" is not diegetic.
If I were to change the +3 to a more describe term, something like "STR very good," would that make it more diegetic?
...or are you playing the right game, now that you've altered the game enough to suit your needs?
But seriously, you'd think with so many games out there, I would be able to find the game that suits my needs. But the truth is, it took me about a year of on-and-off searching before I went from...
Is that a reference to a meme? FWIW, I used to be an anti pineapple pizza person, but now I actually love it. Same with anchovies. I guess getting old does things to your palette.
For those of you who don't know, there is a thread in D&D general that has over 1887 pages and counting. A lot of interesting discussions there, but one recurring exchange is this idea that one doesn't enjoy a particular TTRPG because they are "playing it wrong."
"If you didn't enjoy this game...
