I use core alignment rules for purposes of special magic items, etc. but more important for me as GM is two adjectives description of character eg. mysterious (likes keeping secrets about himself), righteous. This way there are no limits for a character description (this can by any adjective)...

Excellent review! My feelings about this adventure were quite the same. It is potentially good, but so much depends on DM and players (too much), more than typical and more than it should be. It's more an idea (elements) of adventure than an adventure itself.

Suggestions from Kyramus were really good, but I'll add some of mine own. The staff isn't bad idea, but maybe make it somewhat less powerful, that it won't win her fights for her. Wizard trial could be good and put in some competition, some fellow mage, who would use more subtlety than direct...

Yeah. I have problems with it too. Too much discipline and it takes everybody fun off or other way, I'm too easy with my players and they start rampaging through session. I'm afraid it has something with DM's charisma or the lack of it. It's hard to improve but I'm trying - and even noticed...
