Not really. They get multiple attack rolls and a lot more ways to buff them, especially with advantage.

IMO. Most people overrate control spells based on the assumption that they will work when they use them. They rarely consider the case...

Trick for the casters is to spend the right amount of spells. Not too many and not too few.
