The Gazette would be a great place to provide of examples of how certain things are supposed to work, like Crafting. Walk us through the process for 1) characters doing the crafting of a specific magic item themselves, and then 2) characters hiring out the work to a suitable NPC.
After...
So, can the Level Up Designers that hang out in here weigh in? Are we supposed to completely ignore the first paragraph of the sidebar on page 349? Or does that guidance somehow mesh with the other rules on crafting that we're just not seeing?
You actually can work on Crafting with other characters, at the Narrator's discretion:
"Characters may wish to work together to complete downtime activities. At the Narrator’s discretion, one character may assist another (as the Help action on page 442). Both characters must spend their downtime...
Like I said, not very clear and some examples sprinkled throughout would be supremely helpful.
So, you fellas reckon that we're supposed to completely ignore the first paragraph of the sidebar on page 349? It sure doesn't jive well with what follows on page 350.
Regarding the second paragraph...
Designers, can we get some examples of how this is supposed to work in future versions of the PDFs, or in an addendum? I know there have been several posts on these topics already, but having read through them, and creating a Google doc "cheat sheet" that consolidates the rules on these topics...
For your consideration, one thing that would be helpful is a small section for Bonus Actions and Reactions, like how they're laid out in the Monstrous Menagerie for monsters and NPCs. Perhaps just under the Attacks & Spellcasting block (if some of the other sections on that front page were...
Fellas, I don't care if studded leather really existed or not. All I wanted to know is what the Level Up designers intended for us to do with the studded leather that is in O5E, as we transition to A5E.
Is O5E Studded Leather armor supposed to be Padded Leather in A5E, or Leather Brigandine? Or did the Level Up developers intend to leave it up to Narrators to decide? Looks like the only other O5E armor type that doesn't have an A5E equivalent is Ring Mail, but it was not worth including in...
In O5E you can spend a minute after a battle and recover half of your expended ammunition (PHB page 146), but I haven't found any such guidance in A5E. Oversight, or intentionally left out?
Hunter's Target is fine, but it's really just a replacement for the 5e casting of Hunter's Mark. So, LU Ranger gets Hunter's Target and some uses of Trained Accuracy, while 5e Rangers get Fighting Style Archery and some casts of Hunter's Mark.
All in all, it probably does work out to be about...
