    DMs Guild Pulls the OGL

Having received clarification from DMs Guild, I have removed the video. Sorry for the confusion!

D&D General You Can Now Make Greyhawk Stuff On DM's Guild!

Then I look forward to seeing your material on DMs Guild. To me, the choice isn't as cut and dried.

D&D General You Can Now Make Greyhawk Stuff On DM's Guild!

Exactly. But it can still be distributed (for free) under the FCL. That's the choice. Free and free, or earn 50% and get locked in forever. It's not an easy choice.

D&D General You Can Now Make Greyhawk Stuff On DM's Guild!

Not exactly. It can be released for free under the Fan Content License. But once it goes up on DMs Guild, it's exclusively there in perpetuity. Hence my indecision as to whether to do it.

D&D General You Can Now Make Greyhawk Stuff On DM's Guild!

I'm conflicted, to be honest. I did do a quick video on it this afternoon:

I would suggest Castle of the Mad Archmage, which is my homage to Castle Greyhawk. But then, I'm biased. :)

Would You Get A D&D Tattoo?

Right here. I'd probably get a tattoo of the AD&D 1E Player's Handbook cover, which is iconic, but getting the 5E logo is sort of... short-sighted.

RPG Evolution: Is the OSR Dead?

I disagree with the idea that the OSR is about "rules lite" games in general, and have argued against that idea for years. 1E is most definitely "old school" and it is far from "rules lite". The OSR is about the DIY ethos, and what 1E does that matches that ethos so well is its modularity. You...

RPG Evolution: Is the OSR Dead?

Well, there's Goodman Games, Troll Lord Games, and Kenzer. Those would seem to be solid mid-tier companies. If your sole point of comparison is Wizards and Paizo (and maybe Fantasy Flight), then sure, everyone else is going to look smaller by comparison. But that goes for non-OSR publishers like...

RPG Evolution: Is the OSR Dead?

For you perhaps, but your experiences aren't everyone's. There are thousands of people for whom a dungeon-centric exploration game is precisely what they expect and enjoy. Look no further than the success of OSR products like Dwimmermount, Stonehell, the Hobby Shop Dungeon (which recently raised...

Release D&D 5th Edition Release Schedules

It'd be interesting to see which products were released under the OGL and which were not.

    Favorite D&D Retroclone?

I'm admittedly biased, but I'll put in a word for Adventures Dark and Deep. It starts with the 1E rules, smooths out a lot of the rough edges, and adds new classes (mountebank, bard, jester, savant, mystic) and tons of new spells, along the lines Gary Gygax was proposing back in the mid-1980's...
