    Real Life Monsters

I was reading about a fungus that afflicts silk worms, cordyceps militaris. It infects the host and secretes an enzyme that converts the trehalose from leafy goodness the worm eats, into glucose, which the caterpillar cannot process, but the fungus can. The fungus corrupts the creature's...

Paizo Partners with Titan Forge and MyMiniFactory to Offer Premium STLs and Print-On-Demand Miniatures

You want pretty close to official depiction of WotC Monsters (and some Pathfinder and Kobold Press)? MZ4250 is what you need and it is free, because he is a mensch. He also has a Patreon and occasionally streams his sculpting on Twitch. MZ4250 on Thingiverse

Paizo Partners with Titan Forge and MyMiniFactory to Offer Premium STLs and Print-On-Demand Miniatures

I think it is interesting that Paizo branched out from WizKids , who have made physical minis, both pre-painted and pre-primed, for a good long time now.

Paizo Partners with Titan Forge and MyMiniFactory to Offer Premium STLs and Print-On-Demand Miniatures

Titan Forge is really stepping up their game with all these partnerships for Pathfinder and Dragonbane. My poor Elegoo Mars 2 is going to be crying instead of retiring.

Draw Steel: Fake variety helps no one

I don't mind the 2 vs 1d3. It is slight variation, but still variation. The individual names for each class resource seem to be a waste of page space. I imagine in play is will just be referred to by a generic 'resource' or one classes name will become a catch-all. I am not familiar with Draw...

RPG Buzzwords that have effectively lost their meaning due to poor over-use

Jargon is fine if it can be recognized as shorthand for a larger concept. Jargon is crud when it is used to gate keep or obfuscate. The problem is the use, not the word. Ask for clarification and move on with the conversation.

    Dragonbane Miniatures Coming to Kickstarter

You mean, Sir Drake Mallard, Righteous Rage of the Misty Vale? Does his beak offend, Sir? Excited that Titan Forge is doing these. They are a good studio with a large catalog of STL miniatures. Good to see more being produced for Dragonbane.

Dark Horse Reveals First Dungeons & Dragons Comic

I don't care about the individual character art. The composition of the cover is just boring as hell, both the comic and the novel. My eyes glazed over before I could even notice there was a gold dwarf cropped out in the top image. I hope Greg Pak can spin some stories with these folks.

D&D General Todd Kenreck Let Go from WotC

It is a shame to see Todd go. He may not have been a designer or developer, but he was one of the most recognizable people of the 5E era. I assume they want a fresh face to match all the other fresh faces for their product launches. I also imagine the interview format will go by the wayside for...

D&D Debuts Playtest for Psion Class

Always late to these discussions. There are some interesting parts of the new psion. I am ok with the psychic dice. Using hit dice to represent burning health for power is novel, even if it starts leading to the 'which dice do I spend to attack?'. I have resigned myself to the fact that 5E magic...

    Dragonbane Announces Two New Books

Very excited for this Kickstarter! Even though I run Shadowdark mostly, I am always on the lookout to get a game going of Forbidden Lands or Dragonbane.

Jeremy Crawford Also Leaving D&D Team Later This Month

D&D is not going to innovate or change any sacred cows. The last time for that was D&D Next. The rules are 'good enough' to continue to keep the game in print for longer than I will be on this good, green earth. And compared to some of the iterative designs of D&D Next, 5E is very toned down...

    Psionics--the Poll!

I agree, despite my love of psionics, that the name and naming of powers, is very 70's new age and pop psychology. There is a place in fantasy stories to have the psychic who affects others or the environment with merely their will and thought. And Buddha knows, there are so many better ways to...

Jeremy Crawford Also Leaving D&D Team Later This Month

I miss all the juicy gossip when I pull long work hours... I wish Jeremy Crawford all the best going forward and thank him for his contributions to D&D. I did not always agree with his rules interpretations, but you could tell his decisions were from a play perspective, not just a white room...
