5E Should 5e have more classes (Poll and Discussion)?

Interesting perspective, Crit. From my perspective, I simply see so many people having fun with the game as is...I don't really see the advantage of making a change like that. I guess I'm a bit conservative, but there was a time when the paladin was a subclass of the cavalier. Then, the paladin...

5E Should 5e have more classes (Poll and Discussion)?

    Yup, I do/done that.

5E Should 5e have more classes (Poll and Discussion)?

Bill Maher has a segment on Real Time called "I Don't Know It For a Fact, I Just Know That It's True" in which he wraps his cultural and political criticism in far-fetched observations. I have no criticism to offer here, but after reading Tasha's and listening to the recent interviews with...

Working Through Grief with Role-Playing Games

Sorry to hear that, Bed Rock. Losing someone suddenly can be especially difficult.

5E Spell Versatility is GONE. Rejoice!

The book is a very good book that has been highly play tested. It is well written and well-designed. The art isn't really my cup of tea, but I don't expect every book to meet my aesthetic tastes. I would think that any D&D 5th edition player would regard this as an exciting book to have and use...

5E New D&D WotC survey asks if you read ENWORLD!

Mine were Spelljammer, Dark Sun, and Mystara.

5E My Quick and Dirty Tasha Read

Hmmm...not among my players...or those who congregate at the couple local hobby shops I frequent. It seems to be easily understood that as the creator or manager of the fantasy world, the DM gets to pick which races, subclasses, and so forth are permitted. The same for which optional rules in...

5E Tasha: Now on D&D Beyond, Roll20, Fantasy Grounds

Love ya, Jasper, but I have to agree with Dave...you sound triggered. The very first page of Tasha's after the Table of Contents recounts the "Ten Rules to Remember" (slightly altered from Xanathar's "Ten Rules") and the very first rule is "The DM Adjudicates the Rules," which includes "the DM...

5E New D&D WotC survey asks if you read ENWORLD!

I am not smart enough to know in advance if such a survey would produce a nonresponse bias. I do know, though, that the role-players I know are happy to give Wizards feedback, knowing that it gives us a voice in decisions they make about future publications. I found the survey fun to take. Why...

    5E Mythological Figures: Cú Chulainn

Whoa...how come I never thought of Cú Chulainn for a write-up? Now it seems such an obvious pick. Great job, Mike!

I can relate, Univox, I feel much the same way. May his memory be eternal!

Working Through Grief with Role-Playing Games

The group I DMed from 1988-1992 features two main people who passed away, one in 1992 from Hodgkin's Disease and one in 2009 from H1N1. I think of them both often. I dedicated the first book I published to my friend who died in 1992, Josh.

    5E Mythological Figures: Francis Drake

Well, I think the write-up is terrific....thanks for doing it Mike!

    5E Mythological Figures: Charles Vane

I am surprised that no one commented, Mike...I like it...but when I saw it was a pirate I was still hoping for Francis Drake! :)
