Would you be willing to post a d20 creature stats? While I understand what you posted having something to compare a d100 stat monster to would be extremely helpful.
I haven't decided on which ones specifically, I know I'm going to use the Color Out of Space though. Where would I find the d20 monsters at?
And could I use the differences between the d100 and d20 stats and stuff to possibly come up with a quick and dirty conversion "key" For any not already...
I'm looking at inserting some Lovecraftian creatures into my D&D adventure. I own a (6th? Ed) Malleus Monstrorum from the Chaosium ruleset.
I don't need the entire rulset, merely guidelInes on how to convert creatures into D&D.
Could anyone help me out with this?
Darn, I hadn't thought of that ...
I figured the runaway train stop challenge could be:
Win: Safely stop train nearby area with some sort of useful stuff.
Failure: Train crashes into center of the village.
Nooooo clue how to end the chase SC...
I was going to make him a psionic villain. Perhaps they could encounter him multiple times in the "heroic" adventure with a final encounter before they hit level 11.
I do like the idea of a high level minion, so when they actually hit him he just pops and escapes for the time being
Encounter 1 ((Entralled Passengers))
10 Duergar Miners (minions)
Basically, canon fodder being thrown at them. Just chose the miners as a template for the NPCs.
Encounter 2 ((Passengers, Minor Lackeys))
4 Thugs (minions)
5 D. Miners (minions)
Similar concept to the first, except now...
I'll list my encounters in a separate post (since I think it would get super crowded and confused in this one if I didn't.
I love you suggestions, especially how to join the final two SC. Now you said easy (1 or 2) for each player, you mean each player has to make, say, 4 successes before 3...
I'm definitely going to explain to them that it's in their best interest to use skills that they have high mods in AS WELL as that they role-play what they're doing (which I could use depending on the RP action whether to make the check an easy, med or hard check).
I also love the idea of the...
Edit: I think I'll combine the final two SC and split them with a battle with either the hooded figure or one of his henchmen.
So what you're saying is rather than having the "birth" at the death of the mini-boss, have an RP transformation (perhaps a build-up over the course of the battle...
That's a good point on the first SC, I'm not sure how I could do that. I just want to introduce them to the SC mechanic before the train top chase. Perhaps I could use the crowded car or gathering some information first as one (although there still isn't much of a loss in that)
Ah dude this is awesome! I hadn't even considered decoupling the train or environmental effects! I'm gonna check out those threads you linked me to as well. Thanks so much!
Hi everyone,
I'm new here so forgive me if I put this in the wrong place, but I'm looking for assistance in specifics concerning that which is mentioned in the title.
A bit of backstory: I'm making my own campaign at the moment, I'm literally railroading my players (they're on a train, I...
