Pathfinder 1E Lisa Stevens, CEO of Paizo, commenting about ENWorld

Again, I think Lisa was writing about your PDFs. But since keeping an active and popular site is for you more important than selling your game products, then everything is fine. :)

Pathfinder 1E Lisa Stevens, CEO of Paizo, commenting about ENWorld

I think Lisa was not writing about the forums, but about the main page and EN products. Imagine you wanted to buy a 3E PDF product by EN Publishing. You went to www.enworld.org, and what did you find? "Latest news about 4E! We can confirm the warlock is in the PHB! Scoop about the combat...

Pathfinder 1E D&D4 and Pathfinder can coexist

So here we go again... :( But I can see another major motivation for attacking the other side is fear. Fear that if the other one is successful, the game I'm publicly supporting will disappear (and I'll become somehow a looser?). About the ninjas... let me lock the front door.

Pathfinder 1E D&D4 and Pathfinder can coexist

I am a professional forum lurker, both at enworld and rpg.net. I enjoyed reading the passionate discussions, but I didn't write much, specially because English is not my first language. But I'm very tired. In these last months something changed, and the struggle between D&D4 and 3.5/Pathfinder...

    d20 Modern & monsters

Is it possible to use normal 3.5E monsters (for example, from the MM) with d20 Modern? Is there a conversion guide or no changes are necessary? Thanks.

    WotC, 3PP and quality level

I hope the new legal situation doesn't waste the talent of many great D&D authors.

    WotC, 3PP and quality level

Sometimes I read in these forums that the new GSL will avoid one indesirable effect the d20/OGL licenses had: the 90% of crappy books that flooded the market. I know the vast majority of 3PP supplements were terrible, although 90% of published fantasy literature, even mainstream literature, is...

New OGL games based on 3.5?

In his famous post, Clark says that "The market for 3E is not there". And I really believe him. But do you think we'll see new OGL games based on d20/3.5? I don't mean generic games like Pathfinder or True20, but books with a setting, like Conan, Etherscope or M&M. Do you think there's still a...

What are the big non-d20/non-D&D Game Systems?

Yes. They had a delay last year because the publisher, John Nephew, ran for a public position (in his town council, I think), but they still have 4 books planned for 2008.

What are the big non-d20/non-D&D Game Systems?

I think the best managed "niche game" is Ars Magica. When they released the Fifth Edition they decided to publish four 144-pages hardcover supplements every year. Amazingly they are doing it, sales are excellent for their company size, and they can even reprint old books periodically.

    Why can't wizards heal?

Do you know if any D&D/AD&D campaign setting explains why wizards can't cast cure wounds? For example, "the goddess of magic forbids it".

    Why can't wizards heal?

This is logical, since the gods decide which spells they grant to their followers. But pure magical energy should do anything if the wizard is powerful enough to manipulate it.

Is a popular non-D&D traditional fantasy RPG possible?

Games like RuneQuest, Ars Magica and Warhammer have endured many publishers and editions, but they are still alive and selling well, and they have strong communities. Why? Because they offer something different and are extremely good games regardless of D&D.

    Why can't wizards heal?

I know, it's for balance reasons, and one of the core assumptions of D&D. In other games, like Ars Magica, wizards can magically heal. But what's the in-game reason? Why in no D&D/AD&D game setting a single mage has developed a "cure wounds" spell? Come on, it's only moving a bit of flesh, not...

    How many OGL games exist?

Again, I think you misunderstood me. I was asking about complete stand-alone games. For example: abilities must be described. So Thieves' World and The Black Company are out of the list.
