These ideas sound pretty uninspired. Throwing temp HP and rerolls at the game for no reason doesn't add fun, IMHO. I wish they'd been a little more creative, or maybe write scenarios designed for duet play. Otherwise, give guidelines for the DM on how to adjust a scenario... Which seems it would...
A standalone game with original setting, with explorer and adventure seeker vibes, actually sounds more interesting to me... even though a Tomb Raider game itself does sound like it could be fun.
The cover art fails to stir me but I'd prob still check it out to see how the story is. Wondering if it's going to go for more serious or silly vibe. I hope for a good overall story (a few gags are fine if they're well placed). If it goes for more of a humorous or light hearted vibe, I think...
I wonder how many were layed off from the D&D specific team and how many are left. It sure has felt like that team continues to shrink but that may just be my perception from limited info.
Hmm her farewell is well formulated and positive... Some might consider it a bit overly positive. Maybe this is the end of the story. With Perkins and Crawford leaving, and all the Hasbro/WOTC missteps... I think there's more to the story and it's prob not all smooth sailing, as Lanzillo's...
I want to think the best case scenario you outline is possible. What gives me doubt and makes me lean towards the alternate reasoning you give is due to the language Joseph Goodman used about having no plans for future work with JG after the Jennell Jaquays collaborations. Why would he say that...
I feel pretty much the same...
I've been thinking about this situation and I can't see a path where JG isn't getting some payment. As was pointed out in the latest Unofficial TTRPG Talk, if money isn't claimed by the old KS from 2010 backers, but set aside in the pot for that, it will go to JG...
While I think the Deathstalker movies are generally pretty bad, I have enjoyed them all and will def watch them again. They do remind me of some TTRPG fantasy games I've played in, although I've never thought they needed their own books... In a way they feel so generic. Still, I'd be curious if...
Wondering if it has been revealed what the licensing agreement is. Did GG pay JG for the license to make CSIO in the first place? I haven't seen this brought up or revealed anywhere. I just don't see a world where JG licenses it their properties without gains. Maybe GG paying off the 2010...
I do think this is testing the waters for where to go with Daggerheart moving forward, they're likely hoping it'll be popular and they can use it for their big season. Seems likely they'll continue with D&D. Then the question becomes... 2014? Or 2024? Ohh the drama if they stuck with 2014 😅
Better? Yes. I still don't feel like it's GG responsibility or business to bail out JG's failed KS from 15 years ago. Is that the price of doing CSIO? Feels weird and wrong. And even with that in place, the current crowd fund is still indirectly supporting current JG owners. I want to see...
