The old Epic Insights articles (found at http://wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/arch/ei) has a bunch of neat-o Epic stuff. The most useful one, I think is http://wizards.com/dnd/files/EICompiled.zip, which has a metric ton of classes and feats and stuff in it, updated for 3.5.

The Shadowwalker template from Unapproachable East provides Darkvision, along with a ton of other abilities -- but at a price! -2 Con, Light Blindness, and EL +1. But you get +2 Dex , +4 racial bonus to Hide, and a ton of spell-like abilities.

I like rolling. I think it's because I enjoy taking a set of rolls and turning them into something. Plus, I usually roll really well for ability scores (but horribly for hit points...). One of my favorite characters was a bard/sorcerer with 8 Str, 9 Con, 10 Dex, 12 Int, 11 Wis, 15 Cha. Or...

Arms and Equipment mentions it. They discuss how the armor bonus can only go to +8, but you can raise the total bonus to +13 with fun stuff. One of my characters is presently using +5 bracers of armor and heavy fortification.

After my Xth character died, I decided to name my new one 'Ahdzar Ay'ldye' (ask me if you need help with pronounciation). Surprisingly, this character lived for a long long long time. :)
