I want to take the time first to thank everyone who responded. I am currently without internet due to a move and am currently using a tablet from a mcd's WiFi. When I get a chance to respond with a real keyboard, I will. Cheers.

D&D 5E Two Weapon Fighters - Potential Houserule to correct balnce deficiency after level 10.

We had a long thread discussing Two-Weapon fighting and whether or not it was worth using as a fighter. After carefully looking at the TWF, you could see the damage advantage at lower levels that got progressively worse as you leveled until it was even worse than a shield wearing duelist at...

D&D 5E Opportunity attacks : low vs high level consequences

I was thinking the same thing. I was coming from the angle that the real advantage of great weapons was the larger damage you could do with opportunity attacks. But after looking at it, I realized the same thing. It is very strong at the very beginning, but something easily ignored by higher...

D&D 5E Are ability score caps adjusted by racial modifiers, or does every race have the same potential?

An easy solution for humans, whether you allow beyond 20 or cap at 18, would be to allow humans to pick 1 of their bonus stats and allow that one stat to be raised to 20 or 22 depending on which style you use.

    D&D 5E Sleeping in armor

While I did use the label simulationist, I do not see anything wrong with playing that way. At the end of the day, as long as it works for you and your group is all that really matters.

    D&D 5E Sleeping in armor

Well, penalizing someone for something of that nature is very simulationist. Since simulation is generally about realism, those of us who have actually experienced sleeping in armor, sleeping in the elements in poor conditions, sleeping in incredibly unconfortable positions that had nothing to...

D&D 5E grabbed the PHB at lunch - art is really great

Got mine today at a local WPN store. The artwork is pretty amazing I must say. And I think I will grab a beer as well to read into the night. Cheers.

    D&D 5E Two-Weapon Fighting Style seems ... bad

I have heard multiple times in this thread that the Battlemaster Archetype would heavily favor TWFs, because of the extra attack. Having not seen the Battlemaster Archetype, I could not argue otherwise. However, I now have the player's handbook and have had a very close look at it. Needless...

    D&D 5E Sleeping in armor

I was actually shocked just how nice well woven wool is when I bought a wool knee length suit coat. I had always associated wool with scratchy sweaters and army blankets. Well done wool has an incredibly supple and smooth texture. Even when thin, it worked exceptionally well at keeping me...

    D&D 5E Sleeping in armor

Well, it is an odd beast. If I sleep on a firm mattress, I wake up with all kinds of soreness and pains. It isn't the same as sleeping on the ground or a Japanese style bed. I was always a soft mattress kind of guy. For my wife, it didn't matte what kind of mattress it was, it was bad. The...

    D&D 5E Finally

Dex can be used to resist forced movement, prone, and grapple as well with acrobatics. However only Str provides a bonus to actually do those three things though Athletics.

    D&D 5E Sleeping in armor

On a side note, I actually sleep on a japanese style bed now because of my sleep experiences as an infantryman in the Army. One day I had an idea to think of the best sleep I ever had when our old mattress was wearing out. I realized that oddly enough that some of the best sleep I had ever had...

    D&D 5E Sleeping in armor

Actually linen clothes breathe really well. Linen was a common fabric. Pure linen is an expensive fabric today though, so few clothes are made out of it. That being said, wool does not breathe as well, which was common as well. A Maille Hauberk would generally go over a padded gambeson, so...

    D&D 5E Sleeping in armor

Well, if you are sleeping in armor, there is a good chance you may not be taking it off often enough, and the effects of continuously wearing it would start to surface. So you could create penalties for not finding time to remove it, replace underclothes or let them dry, doing hygiene, etc...
