My favorite D&D cover (and artist) of all time. I have an 8x10 signed by Jeff, but since he got the larger prints available, I need to order a new one :-)
They'd best be careful with this idea. I feel like it stems from simply not being able to keep up with everything that has been written (which, in their defense, there has been A LOT). However, the idea of not being bound by what has gone before is part of how they screwed up the Forgotten...
DM'ing can be exhausting. I try to learn as much as I can about my game world because if someone asks me a question, I want to know the answer (or at least where to quickly find it). I also print a lot of minis and terrain for my games, and prepping those can take a lot of work.

I've liked the idea of lower-powered classes ever since the NPC classes appeared in 3.0. I always thought it would be interesting to start a game where the first level (or two) a character had was an NPC or Sidekick class to represent their early beginnings.
First, I'm not even sure that I'm going with the old map just yet. There are things I like about both. As far as why I would use the old map is just because it's what I'm used to. I like the idea of there being a unified core and the relationships some of the realms had (like Drakov's...
I'll probably use most of the realms as they are now presented, but I'm not sure about the maps yet. While I find the idea of each domain being isolated interesting, I'm not sure I like it better than having the domains connected.
I want to see them do Planescape, but I nervous about the art. Tony DiTerlizzi's art helped define the feel of that setting (for me at least). If they publish a 5e version, I doubt they would get him to do the art, and that's just going to be weird to me.
