Clearly you know your stuff :) Impressive!
And yeah I don't think it was intended to be a comprehensive look but for what they did in 10 minutes it was pretty entertaining for me.
Perhaps it stems more from the rationale that a fumble turns into max damage. If I ignore that and we do the basic math then with your new model the average damage goes up from 5.5 to 6.4 on a d10. If say we instead rerolled a 1 then average damage would be 5.95. So at the end of the day none...
Speaking of the historical context of Bards, Mad Adventurers Society did a short podcast about the history of Bards this week here. It's written by The Angry GM and read by Fiddleback. I actually quite enjoyed it.
Hey Guys.
Saw this one listed on Reddit and thought to share in case anyone still needs to complete their collection. Amazon has roughly 50% off on a number of titles. Link here
Yeah I actually do something like this in my campaigns. I take a photocopy or print out a digital one and then mark it up similarly. I was introduced to HeroQuest before D&D and was accustomed to that visual map style and brought it over into my games whether it was a commercial module or...
I actually love the way you've put this feat together. One concern on changing a 1 to a 10. Might that be a bit over powered? Maybe not use an Advantage but simply add on a moderate amount of damage instead of rewarding a full 10. Or simply re-roll 1's once.
I didn't realize conversions were that easy for the original adventures. I'll also need to check these out. Are there any other caveats to be aware of when using these with the 5e system?
Absolutely right. Fact is most in this world are illiterate and it's really only the scholarly few who can truly read. Scrolls, books, etc are not cheap nor are they incredibly common place. The facilities to create them are also quite few and it's why basic parchment is considered of value. The...
There are always other challenges to face at higher levels of play anyway. And resource management is certainly one way to keep the team engaged. Epic battles can certainly be fun where the party is attacked from all sides and can actually manage the encounter but if they aren't challenged in...
For someone that bought way too many books during AD&D 2E and 3.5E I'm really glad that much of the core material for 5e is actually available for free. Beyond that a handful of books means it's just easy to get into and play. Remember that though WotC has a core group of gamers with higher...
This is great! Multi-Functional dice can be really helpful. I don't think the extra features on the dice get in the way at all. Very easy to read. Nice work!
