The character that has the staff is a fighter, hence wouldn't have any access to spells at all... I have read the details listed in d20 site as well as the DMG and it just makes reference to the wielder and not specifically the magic-user.

Silly question as I should know this but I forget, can any class use a staff (such as the Staff of Life in d&d or Staff of Ressurection in c&c) or does the class have to be a magic user? Thanks, Rob.
