WotBS War of the Burning Sky: Battlemaps

I know this is kinda necro-bumb, but I've uploaded two more maptool adaptations to https://www.dropbox.com/sh/i6xkmr089la9jhf/RC6imCb-kd Same disclaimers as before: as I do these while running the campaign, they require some cleaning (removing my PCs, changing status of dead creatures to...

WotBS Fixing WotBS Encounter / Monster Math

I have majority of the monsters up to adventure 5 updated to MM3 math, but only on the D&D 4e Combat manager statblock library. I can give that to you if you wish. For my group I've also found out that many encounters use multiple low-level (low as in 2-4 levels below PC's) and those seemed to...

WotBS War of the Burning Sky: Battlemaps

jopay: I should have been more specific: The zipped map files are found under "Resources" section, not under "Maps". Page seems to be missing the maps for Adventure 1, I've uploaded those and my own Maptool adaptations to to https://www.dropbox.com/sh/i6xkmr089la9jhf/RC6imCb-kd Other very good...

WotBS War of the Burning Sky: Battlemaps

Morrus posted on other thread that http://wotbsadventurepath.com is the new URL for Burning Sky AP. It looks like it has all maps in there.

WotBS WOTBS for fantasy grounds II

They used to be hosted here, but went missing when the site was hacked. If I understood correctly, they have been sent to Morrus and he just hasn't had time to upload them again. In meantime, I can upload copies for first 4 adventures (I didn't manage to get the later ones) at...

WotBS War of the Burning Sky: Battlemaps

First three are now uploaded at https://www.dropbox.com/sh/i6xkmr089la9jhf/RC6imCb-kd I'm still in process of doing Banquet, I have all maps ready with VBL, but tokens only for half of the encounters.

WotBS War of the Burning Sky: Battlemaps

I also have maptool campaign files going up to Banquet, with Vision Blocking Layers drawn on them, if anyone is interested and it is okay with Morrus. They contain only battle maps and visual tokens (no macros etc information) They aren't 100% ready to use though, because I've done them while...

So ... my DM doesn't let us buy items ... ever ... what do I do?

Or he is being very smart, depending on relative levels of optimization within players. Many of the builds that require certain item combinations are just plain broken. Allowing player with optimized character free pick of items is easily enough to make the gap between characters completely...

First post with a question about the crit rule.

For example, not all magic items give the extra d6 damage per +1. Some give more, others forgo giving damage and instead make the target prone etc. But items, powers, class features, feats etc. may have special effects when you get a critical hit. For example, barbarians can make extra melee...

Armors: Getting hit vs Damage reduction

Problem really is that making "realistic" armor clashes with lot of core design issues in D&D. Armor in D&D has been gamist from the start (options should be balanced against each other). If you want to make things realistic, it will screw up the game balance. For example, having properly...

Armors: Getting hit vs Damage reduction

Everything depends on are you playing heroic, paragon or epic. In heroic damage is low and status effects are sparse. There resist 5 is removes 30% (lvl 10) to 60% of damage (lvl 1), if you're using MM3 math. Slightly less in case of brutes, but in minion case, it's lot worse. During the 10...

    Wooden Table vs Virtual Table

I personally use mix. I run combat encounters on flat-panel TV or projector with Maptool and often show images, maps etc on it too. But we're still playing at a table and I'm not using the frameworks so all attack, damage etc rolls are done normally.

WotBS WOTBS maps (adventure three and beyond) in .jpg?

For printing, I'd personally just use the .pdf files available from resources page. Assuming you want to use 1 inch squares that is, otherwise OnlineDm's advice is good. I've converted maps from the .pdf in adventure 1 to png files. I just copied the images from pdf file to image editor and...

Is the Online CB Working Well Now?

I can also confirm that CB only works if you're using decimal dot (.), not decimal comma (,). Monster Builder had kinda same bug, first versions crashed instantly if you were using decimal comma. I've been patient with the new CB, but considering that this bug was reported to WotC the first...

    Backing up the CB Classic

Well, WoTC hasn't actually pulled the plug on CB Classic. You can still find the installer from http://www.wizards.com/dnd/files/tool/characterbuilder/DDI_CB.exe and the update servers worked just fine last weekend. I'm currently at work, but if you wish I can check out from home which registry...
