    The Council of Thieves AP

I totally disagree, and feel that your opinion could have been expressed using more neutral language, for that is what it is, an opinion. I for one love the map of Westcrown.

    Starting Hit Points?

It's on page 12 in the Common Terms section, under hit points. Not the most obvious place for it, if I may say so! Took my group a little while to find.

Pathfinder 1E [Pathfinder] Planning on switching to Pathfinder?

I've been running a 4E game since the edition's release, but we're switching that to Pathfinder, possibly as soon as our next session. The second game I play in is approaching the end of a long-running 3.5 game. When that's done, we're playing Second Darkness, also with the Pathfinder rules.

How many folks are still playing/running 3e?

I'm currently playing in a weekly 3.5 game that is due to wrap up soon. When it does, I will be DMing Second Darkness (unless Council of Thieves steals our attention first, when it comes out) for that group using the final Pathfinder rules. I am DMing a weekly 4E game, but we're in talks of...

Pathfinder 1E What kind of paper does Pathfinder use?

Actually, I can't wait to move in! :D

D&D 4E 4e vs. Paizo: Mommy, Daddy, please stop fighting!

I have been picking up a whole bunch of Pathfinder books and used their art, ideas, and adventures as inspiration for my 4E campaign. Their "fluff" really is outstanding, but I do so much prefer the 4E "crunch". (Largely because I have been playing 3/3.5 from the start, and I really enjoy the...

My own "Dr. Horrible's sing-along blog": a musical about my D&D campaign

Absolutely brilliant. Keep us updated on that CD!

Arcane Power Art Gallery: Welcome back, old friends

I also feel the need to voice my displeasure with recycled art, and speak up for the importance of art in a hardcover book. I find it's especially true for 4E books, where the graphic design is particularly unevocative of medieval fantasy. I mean, beige gradients - how on earth does that say...

    Stalker0's Guide to Anti-Grind

I actually just did this in my game last week. There was an encounter that needed lots of enemies that would swarm the PCs. Since there were so many monsters, the PCs pretty much assumed they were minions and weren't very scared of them. Until they didn't go down with one hit, that was! Suddenly...

    Stalker0's Guide to Anti-Grind

Excellent article with very sound advice! A method that I've used a couple of times to throw in fast and dangerous fights is to halve the monsters' hitpoints and increase their damage output by 50% or more. It's "breaking" the core rules, yes, but used in moderation can make for a quick and...

WotC puts a stop to online sales of PDFs

Boo, Wizards of the Coast, boo! PDFs are simply great when preparing adventures on the computer, and on the go. They make my life as DM so much easier. Once again we have a radical announcement (like the sudden Dragon and Dungeon magazine withdrawal) without a solution, replacement, or remedy...

    Compendium Updated!

How can one defend scrolling when the same information could be displayed with less scrolling? What good is a lick of coat when it breaks Opera compatibility? For the sake of a modal window? There are dozens of open-source modal window scripts out there that are happy with any browser. Yes, I...

    Compendium Updated!

Yeah, I must say that I'm not too impressed either. I use a netbook during gaming for notes and looking stuff up and my scroll count has just gone up quite a bit. Asmor - great tip! WOTC - how about providing us an API so we can build our own GUIs around the Compendium? And share them?

To all D&D fans - what are the top 3 specific changes 4e needs in your opinion

I'm quite a fan of 4E, but I have some issues too. Here's my top 3 changes wishlist. Presentation. The is perhaps my biggest gripe. I love reading rulebooks and get inspired by them, and this includes the art and fluff, but also the general look and feel of the book. I think the graphic design...
