    Level Up (A5E) Adept Question

I personally prefer less bulky characters to instead have a way of recovering hit points mid fight. I am very happy with A5E decision to make the "heal as a bonus action" feature of the fighter (sorry, forgot the name) into a maneuver everyone that wants staying power (and has access to the...

    Level Up (A5E) Adept Question

I agree the monk is not typically the hulkiest guy, but i think he deserves at least a d10. He certainly feels more "in your face" than a ranger (with a d10) or a cleric (d8)

    Level Up (A5E) Adept Question

Solution (and im not sure asking for a homebrew solution) seems to be simply increase their hit die (to d10 probably). But i do agree with you, another thing that would change (if i was going to mess with hit dice at all would be to demote ranger to d8. If you want to be in meele and take hits...

    Level Up (A5E) Yuan ti

Exactly this. A5e monster stat's format, additional info (such as signs and behavior) and features (favourite spells in the stat block, more bonus actions and reactions, legendary resistance have downsides to the creature, etc) are so far superior to any other I ever found that I just want all...

    Level Up (A5E) Yuan ti

Thanks, I'll checknit out. But they are not in the Monstrous Menagerie with any other name? And if not, are there plans to put them on MM2?

    Level Up (A5E) Yuan ti

Quick question. What is the equivalent of Yuan ti in A5e? I suppose you could not use the name Yuan ti for "WOTC are a prick" issues

    Level Up (A5E) Bladechanter prereqs

Tha ks, good to know. I thought that was the case but I found best to ask anyway

    Level Up (A5E) Bladechanter prereqs

Bladechanter feat has the two-weapon fighting style (apart from the e levels of wizard and fighter) prerequisite. My question is: is the fighting style prerequisite a fluff thing, or setting dependant or is it crucial for balance? I ask because a player of mine wants to do a dueling bladechanter...

Level Up (A5E) Spike growth question

If you are walking on the edge of it yes. But if I know there is a hazard and I don't know how big but still need to traverse it, I would try to go around it by a wide margin, say 30 ft and then try again, if I still take damage, maybe another 15. It's trial and error if you don't know where the...

Level Up (A5E) Spike growth question

I'm not sure if it's raw, but they way I've always seen it being ruled is that once you first entered the area (and take your first 2d4 damage) the DM tells the player that the area is dangerous and asks if the PC (or decides if it's a monster) wants to keep moving through there. They don't know...

Level Up (A5E) Spike growth question

Makes sense, so it's passive Perception if they don't want to / have no reason to spend and Acton to look for danger. Still seems odd that if they are proficient in Perception and their wis is greater than my wis, they automatically see it. The spell says the area looks natural.

Still curious about the first part though. How have you been adjusting the spell?

My bad, it is indeed 3rd level, I went by memory on this one
