Ahh, that explains your interest with the d7! But your mechanic would certainly work. It loses the elegance of a single roll-mechanic and replaces it with wacky dice and more difficulty. Seems a worthy trade.
Anyway, thanks to everyone who signed up for a rather odd game. The start was a bit on...
Fun mecha action and I didn't even managed to die or get anyone else killed with my zooming around. I did at least get close with Dart, though, but he managed to live through it.
I guess I'll have to wait until next time. You did promise a next time, right?
I agree with Cass, great game! Definitely an interesting take on the standard RPG format, and one that worked quite well, I think.
And definitely nice to meet both you and Rob. Even better that the crazy Wabbit got displaced! ;)
Talk about your gratuitous, over the top action! And I think we loved every minute of it! (The professor was kind of forgetful, you know, or else I'd say just how much fun it was....)

Can I play a canibal? Sounds like loads of fun! Sign me up!
OK, ok, I guess I play a poor defenseless shipwreckee and try to escape the canibals. But if food starts to run low....
I'll try to get in before the fighting breaks out in the streets. That way I get a mecha and the rabble get stepped upon! Muhahah.
Ok, now that I've calmed down, could you please sign me up?
Ever play a Call of Cthulhu scenario where you defeat the Mythos creature, shoot the cultists, or generally 'win' and think "That’s not how Lovecraft would have done it!"? There would be no guns, they wouldn’t help, and you’d look into the abyss and see something that destroys your understanding...
Hmmm. You have to tempt me, don't you?
I have been thinking of running a ToC adventure that's true to Lovecraft: No combat. Everyone loses for the Mythos-creatures are so far beyond humanity that we pose no danger and little interest to them; we just get stepped upon. The readers/players...
