D&D 5E What is good One shot for 3rd level?

No way Forge of Fury (3e) could be done in four hours. I just ran my group through Sunless Citadel, and it took four sessions. (Forge of Fury is next on our agenda.) You might want to check out the various Living Greyhawk modules for 3e. Most were written to be played in 4 hours. I think RPG...

D&D 5E Using a shield as an 'improvised weapon' while retaining the AC bonus

One of my players thinks that (a) shields should qualify as 'light' improvised weapons, and (b) characters should retain the shield AC bonus while using a shield as a weapon. I can't find anything in the PHB about attacking with a shield other than the option in the Shield Master feat. Have I...

D&D 5E What technology do you own that you are willing to bring to the table?

I use a spellbook app for Pathfinder as a player. It's much faster than flipping through a hardback. I think that's the only app I've discovered that gives a superior experience to the book/paper/pencil product.

    D&D 5E Likes and Dislikes?

Like: Ease of play and general rules emphasis on the things that matter. Dislike: Lots of balance issues and poorly worded rules suggest a product that was thrown together in a rush.

    D&D 5E 5E Player's Handbook owners: What's the current condition of your book's binding?

I've had the same problem; all the pages between the Sorcerer and Entertainer entries have fallen out (~30), and many pages before Sorcerer are close to falling out. I contacted WotC Customer Service. To replace the book, I have to send it back so they can confirm the product is defective. Only...

D&D 5E What spells are not Scalable and should be?

Would it be a good idea to replace the higher level versions of spells with a scaling mechanism? For example, what if Charm Monster and Charm Person were unified, but with a greater selection of targets at the expense of higher level spell slots? Something similar could be done with the other...

D&D 5E Ability Score Requeriments for Multiclassing, yay or nay?

I think it's interesting how divided the poll is. It seems to me that the stat prerequisites don't actually fix any of the problems identified by the supporters of the prerequisites, and they may create additional problems. (A) If a player wants to min/max and abuse the multi-classing system...

    Character Sheet Feedback

Shield is misspelled in the AC subsection. I would like another line for languages. I would also prefer if the sheet were editable.

D&D 5E Should we add to the STR skills with combat function?

I like this idea, and I would add that since feats are technically optional, we should not rely upon them to scale the effectiveness of grappling/etc. My understanding of the current incarnation of the rules is that proficiency with Athletics provides a bonus to some strength checks (e.g...

    Multiclass Idea

This is a difficult question, but I hope that the designers are thinking about this as they develop the classes. [edit: as opposed to as an after thought.] One idea I remember bandied about earlier in the process was the idea that 1st level characters shouldn't necessarily be the standard...

Stuff you don't have a problem with, but will never use

I think it sounds like you need an additional option beyond Thief and Thug to cover your rogue concept. I'm hoping for something more assassin-ish and swashbuckler/scoundrel/rogue-ish. As far as the question, I've never really liked when parties have disproportionately large numbers of...

    Spell Confusion

I'm OK with Wizards being able to work their way to casting in armor, but it shouldn't be as trivial as taking a level in Fighter. Unarmored magic users have been around a long time, and they're the standard in basically every D&D setting. As to the OP, I think by RAW the cantrips that aren't...

It is not a sorcerer, it's a completely new class

I like the idea of Sorcerer Bloodlines, but there are serious balance issues with the Dragon option in the playtest, as is evident in some session reports. I'm not sure why WotC didn't opt for a more general mage-like Sorcerer for the initial playtest. I'm sure we'll see something like that...

    Blue Dragons: Sand or Sea

If they want 5e to maintain the classic D&D feel they should return to the classic monsters as well, at least in spirit. It's easy enough to house-rule the blue dragon in either direction (desert to sea or sea to desert), but by making the by-the-book blue dragon the classic, desert-dweeling...
