    Groundlings

Interesting. But the name summons images of drunks betting on bear baiting and paying a penny to enter the Globe theatre to laugh at fart and sex jokes.

    One Book

I guess it depends if you are primarily a player or a GM. As the main GM for my group, I find the Bestiary and the GM Guide are great resources. I am eager to pick up the APG, but it is not a necessity for me now. If I was primarily a player, I would pick up the APG first.

Pathfinder 1E new to pathfinder and looking for a GM tutor

Have you read the Core Rulebook? It explains all the things you are asking about using examples and tactical maps to help you visualize what is happening. I would suggest finding a local game and try playing before GMing. Do you have a FLGS where you can play?

    Turn Off a Gaze Attack

To the OP: Are you the player of said character or the GM? It sounds like the PC wants the best of both worlds. Was turning into at Medusa-like creature a choice or a side-effect/punishment? I can't imagine she could use one gaze ability without triggering the other. It could be a perfect...

    APG Class Opinions?

Can someone give a brief description of the alternate spell-less ranger? I don't care for casting rangers but most alternates just seem to swap them out for spell-like abilities. I would rather see feats, skills, special attacks/defenses.

    PC quick reference cards

Greetings, I am creating quick reference cards of all my pc's pertinent stats on 3 x 5 index cards. This way, when I GM, I have all their info at hand, especially things like Appraise that they shouldn't know if they failed and how bad. I have class, level, Stats, AC (touch, flat-foot), BAB...

    Baldur's Gate image controversy

I am glad I could help. I found the whole situation entertaining. Makes me want to fire up good old NWN again.

How to get paint off plastic minis?

Simple Green for sure! It's non-toxic and won't melt plastics. Let them soak for a few hours to a day then scrub with an old toothbrush under running warm water.

D&D 3E/3.5 3.5 E, older D&D and Pathfinder. What do D&D vets think of pathfinder

I totally agree with you there. Oozes and creatures without structured anatomy should be immune to crits and sneak attack damage. I guess this just stresses the importance of balancing encounters and using a variety of opponents. Immunity to sneak attack is okay as long as GMs don't overly rely...

D&D 3E/3.5 3.5 E, older D&D and Pathfinder. What do D&D vets think of pathfinder

While I can understand why people may not agree with this rule, and I know you shouldn't apply "real world" science to RPGs, think about it for a moment. The rogue gets extra damage because he/she knows how to hit where it hurts. Well, even if you are undead, a severed tendon or ligament is...

D&D 3E/3.5 3.5 E, older D&D and Pathfinder. What do D&D vets think of pathfinder

I can't speak for your group, but the +2 to stats really doesn't cause any problems with my group. Although, they NEVER build characters for optimization. They usually try to avoid a negative stat adjustment in any stat and build their characters with a concept and personality in mind. The +2...

    The Straight Dope on D&D c. 1980

How can this be from 1980 if the letter claims "Gygax left the company in the mid-1980s"? Also, was PC or Political Correctness even in usage in 1980? I don't remember hearing it.

D&D 3E/3.5 3.5 E, older D&D and Pathfinder. What do D&D vets think of pathfinder

I recently got the core book from bn.com (Barnes and Noble), I had a gift card. It was about the same price as Amazon, plus I got free shipping and if you Google for coupons you can save even more, I think I saved an additional $6.
