I'd be perfectly happy with a 500 page book of just new monster art, and maybe a handful of mechanics. I can stat that stuff myself, but finding pictures for inspiration is a grind. Third party books are great for that, but I'll take the 2024 MM as well.

Single target damage is very important. It's just not the only thing to consider when building a PC. The video repeatedly mentions that rangers have good AoEs and ranged attacks. If I want to play a single target melee build I now know that the ranger will not be a good fit. That's all it does...
