That gets you the "vulnerable to silver" part of the lore, but what about the "immune to normal weapons" part?

D&D (2024) Lycanthropes in the MM

There are some great ideas floating around here. FWIW, I think I will be treating werewolves, and the other traditionally resistant to harm monsters, as having fast healing equal to 1/4 their max HP, and probably increasing their HP total (at least for bosses.) Any round they are hit by <special...

    D&D (2024) Why aren't you using 5e 2024?

I love the tone of this post.

    D&D (2024) Why aren't you using 5e 2024?

As intended. I'm hoping that most of us are self aware enough to understand that our soapboxes appear rather flimsy to outside viewers. That's not to say that they are without merit. I just want to provide a judgement free zone so they stop derailing the "why 5e 2024 is great" threads

    D&D (2024) Why aren't you using 5e 2024?

Lots of rants in threads about the new books, so let's make a safe place for salty goblins to really let go, and vent about why this is the end of the civilized world. Let the vitriol spew like the breath of your favorite black dragon, but remember to follow rules about decorum and personal attacks.

D&D (2024) Did you make up your mind about 5.24?

Noted. I honestly have no idea where I pulled 500 pages from, but I appreciate the benefit of the doubt there.

D&D (2024) Did you make up your mind about 5.24?

I'd be perfectly happy with a 500 page book of just new monster art, and maybe a handful of mechanics. I can stat that stuff myself, but finding pictures for inspiration is a grind. Third party books are great for that, but I'll take the 2024 MM as well.

D&D (2024) Did you make up your mind about 5.24?

The saltiness around every single edition, update, and expansion has gotten tedious. It's still culturally acceptable to say you don't care for something, or remain quiet, and move on with your life. Personally, I like most of what's in the PH, and haven't yet seen the DMG. The issues with...

    D&D (2024) Treantmonk's Ranger DPS video:

If you can point me to D&D beyond's raw data I'll do more. Until then, you have to deal with anecdotes. I could give you a dozen more if that would help.

    D&D (2024) Treantmonk's Ranger DPS video:

I'd argue otherwise. My table is slightly optimized and my bard-barian wouldn't be able to keep up with them if I didn't munchkin the living hell out of it. Optimizing allowed me to make a mechanically weak multiclass into something that didn't drag the party down. I'm not concerned with...

Why do people think that you can't roleplay if you have a mechanically sound character?

    D&D (2024) Treantmonk's Ranger DPS video:

Single target damage is very important. It's just not the only thing to consider when building a PC. The video repeatedly mentions that rangers have good AoEs and ranged attacks. If I want to play a single target melee build I now know that the ranger will not be a good fit. That's all it does...
