It's Not A Cartoon, But What Is It?

All-new off-Broadway musical is my guess.

Worlds of Design: “Old School” in RPGs and other Games – Part 1 Failure and Story

In the design space of "Very Dangerous - More Storytelling" part of the chart, I would suggest that New School games like Polaris and My Life With Master -- among others -- fit the bill, as they make it either very likely or entirely-assured that everyone is going to die at the end.

    Is Tabletop Gaming D&D's "Sideshow"?

I don't have any data to back this up, but I would suspect Salvatore's novels alone have far outgrossed all the "real" RPG D&D products. But I'm happy to be proven wrong!

    D&D 5E reincarnate

It's not really a big enough issue for me to get too excited either way. If a dwarf-into-half-orc wants to swap languages, or not, that's fine. It's not like the good old days when your wizard came back as a badger. Cheers, Roger

D&D 5E Weak monsters that terrify you

The CR 1/2 warhorse can stomp someone into a fine paste in pretty short order.

D&D 5E Adventure Design: Backstory and History

This sort of information can be useful, if it's presented the right way. An additional character background or two goes a long way in conveying this sort of information, but it's not always the right answer for every adventure. Rumour tables are really great for this sort of thing. A clever...

D&D 5E How do you regain INT after an Intellect Devourer attack?

You gotta cook up that intellect devourer and feed it to him, which I guess would make him an intellect devourer devourerer. It might not work but it's not like he's going to complain.

D&D 5E [Poll for the front page] Nominate your ONE favourite thing about D&D 5E

The art. (which might not be my final answer, but I think it would garner some votes.)

D&D 5E Prepping for the 5e gaming licence

My sense is that 5E tends to be more of a 'yeah but how well does it work in practice' sort of edition, so I'd tend to suggest your time is best spent in more playtesting rather than anything else. But your mileage may vary on that.

Urban Bounty Hunter from SCAG Courtesy of Extra Life

I kinda dislike the conceptual creep here, which is just my subjective preference. I like my backgrounds to be strictly in the background -- it's stuff that you used to do, then stopped doing, all before you became the full-time adventurer you are today. Dog, Urban Bounty Hunter, for me hints...

Here Come The PRESTIGE CLASSES! Plus Rune Magic!

I mostly like this. Seems like an okay way to handle The Last Airbender, and also characters who are pretty normal folk until they discover The Sword of Greyskull or whatever. Also someone can (and almost surely will) give us the old AD&D bard, which I can't complain about. As a minor...

Your Move? Kickstarter and the Evolution of Game Crowdfunding

Yeah, those are good points. I'm not sure I really agree with them, but it's pretty clear I'm in the minority, so that's fine.

Your Move? Kickstarter and the Evolution of Game Crowdfunding

I think the article failed to blame one very blame-worthy party: the backers. Specifically, backers who think Kickstarter is some sort of complicated pre-order system. Kickstarter is not a pre-order system. A few companies have used it as a pre-order system, which has introduced its own...

D&D 5E Kobold Press new 5e background - former cultist

It's alright, but I'm not sure it does anything the Acolyte doesn't.
