Is Tolerance a Lawful thing ?

Depends upon the deity's relationship with another's, affecting their followers. A god of justice may not fully understand a deity of artistry, but nonetheless may appreciate the results of their efforts. A deity of military orders (knights, paladins, legions, etc.) may have a more strained...

Is Tolerance a Lawful thing ?

Some projection on here. Echoes of "I'm a good person (because I am), and I consider myself X, therefore Y...." D&D alignment does not 'align' itself well when it comes to politics or personal habits. It's a general. As useful as it is, it breaks down when trying to apply it to real-world. In...

D&D General Dragons of Deceit: Check Out the Dragonlance Novel Cover

If whatever they do gets rid of Dragons of Summer Flame, etc., cool. Essentially having all the powers-that-be (including Raistlin) walk into the sunset in order to satisfy the Chaos god or whatever...meh. I understand Raistlin is dislikeable, in some ways I preferred not knowing the 'why' with...

Who's Multiclassing With Who? More D&D Beyond Stats!

At one point I wanted to create a lowly drow warlock who became a cleric of Hanali (insert long boring background story, nothing annoying), but I opted instead for a vain Rogue/Warlock instead. ahh, the combinations imaginable.

Who's Multiclassing With Who? More D&D Beyond Stats!

Hmm, most common multiclass for me has been fighter (eldritch knight)/wizard (various), fighter/rogue, and cleric/wizard. One I wish to try for various reasons would be ranger/wizard, as the wizard spells would add the old-time feel.

Ehhh... Or subscribe to D&D Beyond, very easy to build a PC or NPC.

    Most frustrating quirk of 5E?

Hmmm...I thought that with an unconscious person a 'coup de grace' was automatic if they so chose. I'm used to just whacking people into fillets or hamburger, but still...

    Most frustrating quirk of 5E?

One thing I'll admit to not liking is the attunement limitation. the attunement requirement for some items is nice in that it's a logical way to prevent someone from just grabbing a newly acquired magical doodad and having full use. In some cases it makes perfect sense. But limiting it to three...

Mythological Figures: Conan the Barbarian (5E)

Indeed. And not all things that in a book or movie occur necessarily need to be made special abilities. Some are merely the outcomes of a successful skill check (paraphrasing). Ifd I have the Blood of the Kings in me and I go to where my ancestors lay buried, and they come out en mass, do I not...

Mythological Figures: Conan the Barbarian (5E)

Agreed. Some of those could've been made into inherent abilities instead.

    Most frustrating quirk of 5E?

    1) Every race gets bonuses, no penalties. Yes, I can understand. It's a bit of a reaction to 3rd Edition where, if you got a +2 to a physical ability the designers would then assign a corresponding penalty (and then some) to offset it. Even if the race didn't really have that discernible...

Mythological Figures: Conan the Barbarian (5E)

A spell-less ranger, a druid-ish ranger, and... Yep, room for them all. Just need to build them properly. Give the ranger a little more combat perks (or at least an extra feat like the fighter), then make the spellcasting ranger an archetype (ala eldritch knight, etc.). Not so eff'n hard. Heck...

Here's The Drizzt Do'Urden Conception Story

I've never been a fan of the Drizzzt essays. Too often an essay leads to a moment of back-patting self-righteousness. It may be good for getting a general idea of what's in his head but I filter most of it out or just skip on to the rest of the book, but I don't care for the emo Dear Diary...

Mythological Figures: Conan the Barbarian (5E)

Fair enough. I just needed to look at the class a bit more. So...Barbarian (Berserker) 13 or Bar 8 (Berserker)/Rog 5 (Thief)? (Whenever crunching brain cells on other questions, character-building keeps me occupied just enough.)
