PDFs take up too much space for eBook readers. The readers are designed for compressed text, text being the format for fiction. Games that have no illustrations could be canidates for this, but otherwise the eBook readers are not a good canidate.
Convention Play
I was always interested in playing this game because the setting and mechanics seemed well thought out, so I jumped at the chance to play during convention. You can probably all see where I'm going with this - I had a horrible time at the convention.
We were all apprentices...
Practical considerations
Unfortunately I think my comments said more about the maturity level that we were playing at when the Traveller rules first came out than anything else. So that said, lets look a bit at this.
You would normally be hijacking a merchant ship and not a military craft...
The problem I always had in most of the Traveller style games (with people who had prior D&D experience) was that they always viewed the ship as a treasure to try and take away from the owners. I always though that borrowing the troope style of play from Ars Magica would be a way to setup a...
The Fate PDF for the 2.0 rules are available at http://www.faterpg.com/dl/FATE2fe.pdf; I don't know if there are any plans to complete a comparable document that includes the 3.0 rules, which is the version for Spirit of the Century. The 2.0 rules do contain some magic rules. You can also do a...
Everyone has done a very good job of describing the history of Traveller and giving you a feel for the system. While trying to 'sell the system', I think that your requirement for doing exploration hasn't been completely addressed.
Traveller space craft use a jump drive engine. Traditional...
At a convention game the GM used color tiles - they are one inch colored plastic squares that are available at educational supply stores ($20 for 400 in four colors). The crystalline counters from Three Sages Games also seems like they would work well. I also liked a suggestion I read that...
Change in Tone
Well, I'm going to change the tone of the discussion.
I canceled my pre-order of 4th edition books from Amazon after I read the story about the change in the license. While I can see why WOTC is trying to switch players away from 3.5 to 4.0, I'm not happy with the changes that...
While I understand the argument for creating the separate company, I'm not quite sure why anyone would bother. Will the content that can be published under the new license be enough to sustain a company? I think that point that nobody gets is that the new license is not only designed to push...
Pdf
If I might post a quote from the main ENWorld page (that you can still see if you scroll down) "PDF sellers will be asked to update their products within that six month time and remove the logo." So you answer is, if you are selling PDFs and you want to move to 4.0, you either need to...
Different Option
I didn't want to plow through all of the replies, but I was disappointed that one additional option wasn't allowed on the poll. I'm neutral on 4th edition and want to take a wait and see attitude. I have pre-ordered the 4th edition rule books, and with the new Paizo...
So that means you can use some of the tools, but not necessarily all of the tools. I doubt that the character generator will support that much customization.
I also had an insight, since I'm bringing up this same question in another thread - who owns the rights to any of the material that you...
That is great to know.
But what happens when I want to use content from other publishers? Will I be able to use OGL material from other publishers? What happens when I want to play "The War of the Burning Sky" campaign or a Paizo module using the on-line tools? I suspect the answer is going...
