    X-COM (updated M-W-F)

Very cool. I played a lot of the community made modules back when NWN came out but I had no idea how far the customization has progressed. Makes me wish there was a single player campaign. ;)

    X-COM (updated M-W-F)

Very nice update. Reminds me of the old XCOM games - the difficulty could be quite brutal, as far as I recall. Personally, I would be very interested to see some screenshots how XCOM looks in the NWN engine, in particular the aliens. The old UFO games were an old favourite of mine, so I'm...

Poisoned Death Attack - Order of effects ?

That is a good point. So, the weapon damage has to be accounted for first. As for the two saves, the consensus seems to go towards not letting the poison complement the death attack (either the saves are simultaneuosly or the poison acts last). Let's assume for a moment one were to apply the...

Poisoned Death Attack - Order of effects ?

Well, by the rules there are two separate saves for poison and death attack and someone (the GM supposedly) has to chose which save to roll first. And you are right to note that a wounding weapon adds an additional impact to effect order. The specific reason I'm asking is that the order of...

Poisoned Death Attack - Order of effects ?

Let's assume an Assassin performs a Death Attack with a weapon coated in CON poison. The question is in which order do the three effects, saving throw vs. poison, saving throw vs. Death Attack and the weapon damage occur ? Since any CON damage will impact both the fortitude save as well as the...

Thank you, Lazybones, for all the excellent reading. I`m already looking forward to whatever you decide to write next. :)

Help me find a way to make rogue useful in BBEG fight

You could also introduce a (possibly custom) magic item to allow the rogue to sneak attack the ooze. Depending on how much time you want to spend on this you could even tie in the item with the BBEGs backstory and make a sidequest out of it.

Shackled City Epic: "Vengeance" (story concluded)

I found the version of the feat published in the Complete Arcane, which is formulated more clearly ( and yes, they published the feat twice). Since I own neither CD nor CA myself, my interpretation was based on my diligent reading of the lengthy discussions over in the rules forum. Fortunately...

Shackled City Epic: "Vengeance" (story concluded)

The feat is meant to make multi-class spell casters more feasible by compensating the loss in caster levels. A Mystic Theurge can take it twice, once for arcane and once for divine spells. I thought the increase in general effectivity that comes with the feat could be tweaked into a nice piece...

Shackled City Epic: "Vengeance" (story concluded)

The plot thickens it would seem. Great updates Lazybones. :) I`m also glad to see that Zenna is back. I like that character. I was wondering whether she picked up Practiced Spellcaster together with the additions to her spell book. Any Mystic Theurge should have that feat. ;)

    Feats Not Created Equal

On that I fully agree. Maybe I misread Impeesa's post, but it appeared to me that he tried to justify the simple observation of different power levels by applying probability theory. So, it was more the way the conclusion was presented than the validity of the conclusion itself that sparked my...

    Feats Not Created Equal

I think what you are going for here is an application of the central limit theorem. Unfortunately, the CLT relys on a number of assumptions on the random variables in question. One would be, that all the random variables (e.g. feat power levels in this case) are independent and identically...

Hi everybody. I`ve been lurking the Story Hour forums for a while now. The quality of some of the writing is truly amazing.
