Can someone provide a link to the survey? Wizards has never sent me an email at any of this stuff even though I am signed up correctly, and I figure it is not worth getting into it with them at this point.
I admit I'm not up to the challenge of creating D&D Next worthy weapon affixes. I really like the simplification of the game, but it does create difficulties in areas like this. This does not really provide a solution to this challenge, but I would really like to see an affix for some simple...
I agree about the trade-off, but doesn't this squash more creative affixes to various weapons? For what it's worth, I think that the current weapon damage and its complexity is somewhat hidden to the average or beginner player.
As the packets have rolled out, we have seen lots of changes in the way weapons work. Is there any reason that any of the standard D&D weapons need to do damage that is expressed by rolling more than one die? I find it to be a needless complication that requires modifications to other rules and...
I think this is an important thread to have going, but that we also have to remember that we are not seeing an awful lot of all sorts of content. The development team is cranking stuff out and showing it to us pretty quickly, when there are bound to be (likely unintentional) omissions.
I would...
What if you were only allowed to choose a subclass from one of your classes? Than the subclasses could be reworked slightly to account for these problems.
I hope they do address these issues in the math corrections that we have all heard about. I'm a little wary because of the game's past history. Maybe this is a good place to point out the things that may (or ultimately may not) need correcting and discuss them.
There was an old version of this thread a month or two ago that hit a lot of the spells mentioned plus several others. It might be worth digging that up and linking it in.
For the most part, I'm really digging this latest version of the next edition of Dungeons & Dragons, but it still seems that class abilities and spells often are not scaling in a way that makes any sense. I'm curious if you guys agree with me. Here are a few examples:
Two weapon fighting gives...
I think it makes perfect sense. Kenders are the signature Dragonlance race, and Dragonlance was a major setting in the past. I guess you could include minotaurs, but that is much less iconic.
Heck, I was just being goofy, Kobold, but you probably knew that. You make some very good points. I think that the mega feats create challenges for all classes one way or another, but that may be an acceptable cost to using them, I'm not sure.
Obviously I chose option A. I like the balance it...
Unlike my comment on the recent Ranger thread, I disagree with everything that Kobold Stew said. :-P
I'm very much in love with the current iteration of the rogue class. It makes me want to play a rogue even though I rarely have done that in my 20+ years as a gamer. Sneak attack seems like a...
The Ranger for me is:
A standard sized Ford truck available in most US markets. To my knowledge, it is not any good at two weapon fighting OR archery, but it may have focus in favored enemy: Toyota.
In all seriousness, I think I agree with every single point made by Kobold Stew. I would add...
