Yesterday I had another Return of the Red King (5e24) session, I was having a great time.
The players witnessed the election of a new mayor, who they backed. It was quite a political plot, which worried me a bit. I was afraid my political views and world building would be dour and distracting...
I made a post on r/onednd recently with a similar question about power outliers of the revised edition.
CME is 100% overblown. Emanation spells get nerfed with house rules and chromatic orb sorcs do pretty alright.
Ability scores are gone, only modifiers remain
Modifiers are unaffected by background or species
The usage of hands for spells, actions and the like is vastly simplified
Merge some conditions
Cut 30% of all spells, especially complicated ones
Nerf the shield spell
Add a very simple inventory...
Don’t be like that. The title AND my first post ask for experiences using the book.
I can find useless comments hating on the revised book whenever I want.
If you use adventure books and the like, it is far easier to find things alphabetically. The only ones that tripped me up so far have been the Slaadi and the "Warriors".
At least they don't expect me to know what a Yugoloth is :P

I think I am getting a bit tired of seeing people say the same things without it sounding like they played with any of the stat blocks. A lot of “bought it, but I did not use it”
It’s actually the opposite. If you are used to the old way and never try to learn the new way, it seems stupid.
If you use the book a session or two, you’ll already be used to it.
RAW they can’t be countered, and along with the other Counterspell nerf, it is less useful for sure.
I personally don’t allow it, but I have heard of DM’s who do.
Well, I am already noticing some of your issues with "wasting spell slots on healing word" and the like. Healing is never a waste, but it can feel like you have to give up your turn to give someone else their turn. Especially since you don't seem to feel like the other party members would do the...
As for the sorting changes... I get that you have a preference, but we can learn new mechanics in a heartbeat, is it really that hard to look up a monster alphabetically?
After I got the book, I tested to see how fast I could find stat blocks. The only ones that tripped me up was the new...
