They can't, really - it's IMMENSELY DIFFICULT to fit 6-8 encounters into 3ish hours. I'd say impossible, but I hear anecdotally that...

Nope. Draw Steel, Daggerheart, other RPGs and even 5.5e are just reinventing the fixes 4e introduced. Just not as ugly
