For those interested in Acquisitions Inc, it's worth noting that the excellent digital game Card Hunter has just done a crossover expansion with those guys: http://www.cardhunter.com/2016/04/acquisitions-incorporated-opens-its-cardhuntria-office/ For the uninitiated: Card Hunter is a tactical...

    That actually sounds pretty great.

Scarred Lands! Burning Wheel! Numenera! It's a Big Name Kickstarter Bonanza!

Oh, I wasn't saying it will work *better*. It's totally a matter of taste. Burning Wheel is a very different game to any version of D&D, so it depends what you're looking for. I was just saying that it could be done, and that it wouldn't be that difficult. This conversation has inspired me to...

Scarred Lands! Burning Wheel! Numenera! It's a Big Name Kickstarter Bonanza!

Well sure there's a bit of work on the character creation side. I didn't say it would be NO work =) The easy way to deal with that is to ask the players for character concepts first, and then just create lifepaths to assist them getting there. There's guidelines in the Monster Burner (which...

Scarred Lands! Burning Wheel! Numenera! It's a Big Name Kickstarter Bonanza!

They've changed it so that all digital stretch goals come with the $30 level (or higher). Because someone asked them nicely.

Scarred Lands! Burning Wheel! Numenera! It's a Big Name Kickstarter Bonanza!

Actually a lot of that stuff will be covered by the Codex (the book being Kickstarted), which is an update of a bunch of content from the Magic, Monster and Adventure Burners from the previous edition. Rat men are in there (as a playable race, even). There's a range of different magic systems...

Scarred Lands! Burning Wheel! Numenera! It's a Big Name Kickstarter Bonanza!

That would be a pretty straightforward adaptation. I look forward to reading about your campaign =)

Scarred Lands! Burning Wheel! Numenera! It's a Big Name Kickstarter Bonanza!

No love for Burning Wheel in the comments? Consider that rectified. A story engine like no other. I may be running D&D right now, but BW is the only game where I'll buy every release without a second thought.

A Quick Look At EN World's Demographics

You've lost some zeroes there. In fact Canadians and Americans get a higher percentage than us, although we come in third when adjusted for population (see my post a few pages ago).

A Quick Look At EN World's Demographics

Because I was interested, I adjusted the top 10 visitor country-of-origin list for population. Here's how it looks (number is visitors per 1,000,000 population): Canada (1622) US (1357) Australia (1093) UK (679) Netherlands (531) Italy (211) Germany (201) Spain (143) France (122) Brazil (72)

D&D 5E DMing "Out of the Abyss"

Thanks! I'd missed the DMG reference. So much cross-referencing for a single situation! Would have been nice for the adventure to mention that some of the required rules were in there.

D&D 5E DMing "Out of the Abyss"

Here's a question I haven't seen answered yet: how much food does a foraging PC turn up? The text (p. 20) gives a difficulty for foraging - and references the PHB rules to determine how much food and water each person needs - but it doesn't give any indication of how much they should find. I...

D&D 1E Ye Olde Ranger of Editions Past (1E-4E)

Where have all the comments gone? The 3E ranger was one of the big points of complaint that led to 3.5. It got to the point where there was a site dedicated to designing alternative ranger rules, called The Ranger Project. I know, because I made it =)
