I think my favorite take on the Ranger (which is a spell-less take) is the Wanderer class from Adventures in Middle Earth (Cubicle 7), followed closely by the Warden class from The Lord of the Rings Roleplaying (Free League).

Ye gods, I'm waiting on at least a worldbook/campaign setting for that. In fact, I think I'd rather have that than an all-in-one game as I feel like they'd just try to shoehorn it into the 5e ecosphere which doesn't suit the setting at all.
I've got all the ones from the various EONS editions. I'm more curious if anyone has made any homebrew careers. I'm thinking along the lines of WFRP or Zweihander professions. Things like Highwayman/Brigand or mundane careers like Laborer or Merchant. I'm sure I can cobble them together using...
They seem to have no regard whatsoever for people who are deathly afraid of heights. My palms are sweating just looking at that cover ;)
Still, it looks like something I'll have to pick up. One can never have too much Howard + Leiber on the shelf, and Pelgrane makes a good product.
I had a much longer post typed out, but decided I'd rather summarize. As I see it, the major difference is not in the trappings, but in the themes.
Fantasy typically focuses on themes like:
Good vs Evil
Destiny vs Free Will
Restoring some deposed power structure or rediscovering some lost...
The second one - the worm - vaguely resembles a Remnant Architect from Mass Effect Andromeda. Very cool looking all around. My compliments to the artist(s).
