    D&D (2024) Healer Feat

I may be a little late to the party but would this be a reasonable compromise for a revised healing feat? HEALER You are an able physician, allowing you to mend wounds quickly and get your allies back in the fight. You gain the following benefits: As an action, you can spend one use of a...

RPG Crowdfunding News – Dungeons of Drakkenheim, DCC Dying Earth, CoC Classic, and more

Well that's kind of my question. I know about stories like Lovecraft's Colour out of Space obviously, but a setting where a shower of meteors destroy a city and leave the survivors corrupted by chaos AND then war bands collect the fragments for money, that seems to be almost identical to the...

RPG Crowdfunding News – Dungeons of Drakkenheim, DCC Dying Earth, CoC Classic, and more

Isn't Dungeons of Drakkenheim just a straight rip off of Games Workshops Mordheim? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mordheim

Exploring Candlekeep Mysteries: An In-depth Review

I agree that the Vistani haven't been portrayed as just evil for a long time and I think that's a good thing. I like the similarities to Romani culture though and I think as long as the positive elements of that are focused on and they aren't portrayed as a negative stereotype then there isn't...

Well that doesn't sound too different from what we have now. Thanks.

Exploring Candlekeep Mysteries: An In-depth Review

I am equal parts curious and apprehensive to see how shifting sensibilities have affected the rebranding of the Vistani. Can you let us know what this looks like?

D&D 5E Armor as Damage Reduction

Sorry if this has been mentioned already (I've skimmed through all the posts but its late) has anyone experience of Monte Cook's Iron Hero's? In that Damage reduction is a dice rather than a flat number e.g. platemail may give d12 damage reduction. This avoids the wearer being completely immune...

Worlds of Design: Magic vs. Technology

When Clarke said any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic, it was not the same as saying that any sufficiently advanced technology is magic. One way to distinguish between the two in your game is to take the position that, however similar their effects are, the two...

    D&D General Baldur's Gate 3 Early Access

There are pros and cons to early access but after a couple of hours I've uninstalled it and got a refund. It is only very basic at this stage with a few classes up to level 4. If it where a demo I say it looks like we'll get a good game in the end but that's over a year away and there are better...

Another "Armour as DR" Thread (sort of)

Yes having tiers of damage was one of my first thoughts but as you say this can slow play down at the table as everyone works out by how much they've hit and how many dice they should be rolling. I abandoned it for that reason.

Another "Armour as DR" Thread (sort of)

Thank you for all your feed back. After reading through peoples thoughts I have rethought my original ideas. At the moment I am thinking of using something along the following lines: 1) I am planning to use 3d6 instead of d20 for all checks. 2) To attack a character rolls 3d6+Strength...

Another "Armour as DR" Thread (sort of)

Thankyou both for the feedback. DM Mike I agree that what I'm proposing could be a little "swingy" and I can see the benifits of using 2d10 rather than 1d20. I'd rather keep all checks the same though for the sake of consistency. I'm not sure how replacing all 1d20 checks with 2d10's would...
