RPG Print News – Osprey Publishing, Ulisses Spiel, and More

I'd look into Jackals if it was 5e or d20... Bronze age campaigns one of my favorite things, but don't have players interested in learning a new system.

The Best Cyberpunk Game You’re Not Playing Right Now

I rather like Remember Tomorrow from BoxNinja. Though it is maybe more of a storytelling game than a traditional RPG, as it plays in kind of a round robin format without a GM. Good creative fun if you have a group comfortable with improvisation.

D&D 5E Blogging some more, and thinking about old kits and subclasses

Haven't been playing for a couple weeks as we shelter and avoid congregating as the pandemic continues to spread. Did pick up Tasha's Cauldron of Everything the other day while also working my way through Roger E. Moore's Demihumans of the Realms for 2nd edition. It got me thinking about...

    D&D 5E Laeral Silverhand's Explorer's Kit: A Review

I just bought it for the map of the Sword Coast as I'm starting to run Tyranny of Dragons, but the various pictures could be useful too for visual aids at the table. Nice dice set, but those twenty siders are huge. Overall kind of handy but hardly necessary as an accessory for most of the...

D&D General Great and not so great setting specific sourebooks/modules

GAZ 1 Grand Duchy of Karameikos and much of the rest of the GAZ series was great, if a little cluttered and nonsensical if you tried to tie it all together. I rather liked the related Top Ballista! setting for Mystara as well, with the skygnomes and their magical biplanes. And player character...

D&D 2E [History] Historical Reference Softcovers. Which ones did you use?

I own the Celts, Charlemagne's Paladins, Crusades, Mighty Fortress, and Age of Heroes - I think that's all. I've run some games using Charlemagne's Paladins but adapted to a low fantasy Visigothic Spain just before the Muslim invasion. With Mighty Fortress used it for the firearms rules in our...

D&D 5E New Errata Released For D&D PHB, OotA, Xanathar, and ToF

That makes sense; you wouldn't want to take a power you had to wait two levels to use. Of course, they could have just made it cost 4 and it would hardly make any difference at either 11th or 17th level. Though as originally written I'd just take it as a case of a specific rule taking precedence...

D&D 5E New Errata Released For D&D PHB, OotA, Xanathar, and ToF

Arcane shot fix for XGtE is a good one though; original was so restrictive I couldn't see why anyone would play that subclass.

D&D 5E New Errata Released For D&D PHB, OotA, Xanathar, and ToF

They fixed the PHB horse stats, but not the mule stats :)

D&D 5E New Errata Released For D&D PHB, OotA, Xanathar, and ToF

Same with the water whip change, another minor monk ability whose game breaking ability I completely fail to see.

D&D 5E New Errata Released For D&D PHB, OotA, Xanathar, and ToF

Don't get the shift in monk casting stoneskin from 11th to 17th level, nobody ever seems to play an elemental monk anyway, and stoneskin is a fairly lame spell in 5th, especially compared to earlier editions.
