OMGOMGOMGOMG My next character will be a follower of the Golden Girls! 😍
Dorothy grants smiting powers, Rose healing powers and Blanche all the charm person etc
Now that backgrounds grant a feat, along with skills and tool proficiencies, I feel like a level 0 character could be playable. Just give everyone 1d6+Con hit-points, or the die average of the class they intend to pick. Character would have some actual abilities to go on an easy adventure.
It...
This is very disappointing, species no longer feel as different and special… and using spells to represent their abilities is a disingenious cop out.
It’s the first time i question having already preordered all 3 books 😓
But obviously i’ll still play it, the class changes are really good...
I love this first page of the Classes chapter.
For a new player this is great as it gives a quick and simple overview of all the options available. This is really useful!
I've been using Owlbear Rodeo on my in-person games and I love it so much!
In my games i have owlbear rodeo (player mode) opened on a tablet in the centre of the table, and i control it from my phone.
I use it to share pictures of where the party is, as it helps with immersion. And THE MAPS! It...
IANAL but attempting to revoke an "irrevocable" license also has the highly desirable effect of getting everyone talking about it, with all the increased traffic to the websites where it's being talked about 😄
I have to say, I hadn't been following much of what happens in D&D and rarely came to...
Well, I really love 5e and i hope that OneD&D will be as good.
I really really didn’t want to leave D&D and have to learn and switch to other systems. I’m glad they’re responding to fans worries and addressing concerns, that reassures me.
To be honest I don’t care about dndbeyond. I’ll be...
The character I'm playing currently is a Fighter, and he's the "Wizard" of the party:
He's an Avowed from Candlekeep, he's a Psionic Fighter, he has Str 16, Int 16 and Con 8 (he's made of crystal -- I used the custom race from Tasha's, no homebrew at all).
He's the knowledgeable one of the...
This new book sounds very interesting, I'm excited at having a library of one shots to use whenever/wherever I want.
I'm liking WotC's focus on providing different adventure styles and environments, rather than providing a lot of different campaign settings.
Dang, 30 pages  I'm late to this party but I'm going to write my opinion anyway.
First, well done on WotC to tackle these things also on D&D!
Non evil orcs/goblins/kobolds/etc makes perfect sense. I imagine we've all had game sessions where the party encounters a (traditionally) evil...
Well, I'd say the players have already thrashed the lore anyway.
I really dislike Drow, and nowadays I ban them at my games for two reasons:
1st: Sunlight sensitivity is their only drawback and it's annoying to enforce. Except in Ravenloft where there's no sunshine and then they're OP.
2nd...
I've been DM'ing 5E for like 5 years and I don't remember anyone replacing their leather armor with studded leather armor. Warriors with access to heavier armor do upgrade though.
Honestly I didn't even noticed that Studded Leather has +1 AC with no draw backs. More important things to think...
Ha! :D Good point.
Let me rephrase that: I played Tomb of Horrors and I expected it to be a fun adventure. It really wasn't...
(and it still works for Animal Farm!)
EDIT: just adding that I did run it as a DM. The players did have more fun than me, so I guess it's alright
As a DM I love the Observant feat!
When there is a secret door around I just describe something unusual about that "wall": dust on the floor has been swept by a draft coming from that wall; you see cracks on the rock in a rectangular shape...
All that rolling perception for secret doors...
