    Trailblazer: Free GM's Day Preview

This looks really neat. Is there any more news on it?

    Level 33 "Solo Primordial"?

    Looks kinda controller-ey to me.

official revision to skill challenge system

This does seem like a pretty severe oversight. I don't have my DMG with me to check, but it seems to indicate that hidden things are no longer going to be a problem for pretty much any party, ever. I mean, nobody is going to stumble into traps, ever, at those kind of DCs.

D&D 4E Heavy Concrete Data on 4e's Skill Challenge System (long, lots of tables)

Apparently, there has been silence. My heart goes out to the poor benighted souls trying to play 4E without benefit of Stalker0's skill challenge mod. I don't know how people managed before the internet. ;)

D&D 4E Heavy Concrete Data on 4e's Skill Challenge System (long, lots of tables)

Has WotC said anything since Mearls posted that they were having "meetings?"

Hoards of Minions and 1st level characters

Remember, their fly-by attack only prevents OAs from the person they're targeting. If your PCs pack close together, they're still going to be shredding bats left and right.

    Implements

Okay. Let's say we have two vanilla (no special abilities) +x quarterstaffs. One is an "implement," from the Staves chart. One is a "weapon," from the weapons chart. The question, as formulated here, is the following: Are they interchangeable? That is, are these items functionally...

Help on Skill Challenge [The House is on Fire]

Skill challenges are made of fail. Do not do this unless you are real clear about what's going to happen when they don't succeed. There are numerous threads on this topic. Considering how hard skill challenges are already, I'd avoid a straight-up penalty to the roll. You might have more luck...

Warforged casting spells through chest-attached orb?

Pretty much. Also, I think this character works better as an INT-focused Warlord multiclassed w/ Wizard than a Fighter multiclassed with Wizard. It's also far more appropriate to the bearer of the Matrix of Leadership.

Help me place my awesome stats.

Also, if you play a Dwarf you can get Dwarven Weapon Training. That's a pretty sick-awesome feat, if you're going to be sitting on 18 Strength.

    Does teleportation negate falling damage?

You know, I seem to recall seeing psionics rules in one of the old editions of Traveller. One of the powers was Teleport, and it included all the equations you needed to figure out how screwed you were if you tried to TP long distances on a planet. It WAS fairly easy to cook or freeze...

A talk on the concept of "failures" in a skill challenge (no math, comments welcome)

Oh, come on. I'm asking someone to use aid another instead of trying to use their pitiful skills. From each according to their abilities, eh? They have to do this for the good of the collective. Besides, it's a five-minute skill challenge. It's not like they're being sent to the gulag.

D&D 4E Ideas for a Social Combat system in 4E

That's going to be pretty rough for people who want to play characters not based on Int or Cha. Well, perhaps that simply reinforces what you want to do with the game, so it may be a feature rather than a bug. That said, you might want to make WIS-based buffs and debuffs or something...

A talk on the concept of "failures" in a skill challenge (no math, comments welcome)

You're absolutely correct. I'd be pissed at a player who insisted on racking up failures rather than sitting it out. Sometimes you have to step out of the spotlight, and put the team ahead of your own interests. Life's tough that way. Same way that sometimes you need to cast an area-effect...
